How do you like your X5M or X6M?

So I sadly had to realize I couldn't get a M4 anymore because I will need to tow a quad and seadoo. So I was wondering how do you guys like your X5M/X6M? I feel like I may loose some fun from going M4 to X5M/X6M? Any opnions on the matter?

To answer your question...I LOOOOOOVE my X5M! It's great for hauling people, cargo, dogs, but is still as sporty as an M car. I have an M3 and X5M, and I've been enjoying my X5M more.

You won't be disappointed with the X5M.

Great to hear that. Currently, I am single and no dogs or anything but I do intend to keep my XM 5 the longest, 10 years +, (is that even possible? ha ha). But do go out with friends and great car for winter I suppose.

Yeah, saw yours in your pic thread, it looks nice. I think of getting mine sapphire black with the full red interior. Did you get yours new or used? I still don't know if I should go new or used.

Thanks, I love the Donnington Grey with Mugello Red interior. I bought mine new. You'll need a dedicated set of wheels and snow tires for the Winter. That's the only drawback of the X5M.

That is not a drawback for me, it's a law here so a winter set and a summer set is always in my head when looking for a car.

Really, it's the law in Canada? I never heard of such a thing. Probably safer for everyone if they have snow tires.

Correction my bad, I believe it's only in the state I'm in, Quebec. And yes, everyone should have winter tires when there is snow... or else it's just nonsense, the safety it provides.

Haven't driven the M4 but had a 13' M5 and the X5M is way more fun...

Can't wait for Ontario to follow Quebecs lead with mandatory winter tire legislation. Too many with summer slicks taking chances out there.

Any reasons so? I mean, is it like because you are in a big vehicle and can go really fast?

I know right? I wouldn't want to share a road with someone who can slide into me, I mean, it's dangerous... imagine on roads where there is only a yellow line separating each lane... a frontal collision could happen any time.

Well, because I was not nuts about the M5 as a package. The fake engine sound... the 5 series interior (and I did have the B&O + full light leather and moonstone, so it was stunning). I came out of a 7 series... I guess I prefer cars with more presence. The X5M is just cooler..

Also, the suspension in the M5 was harsher (maybe not air?), and for me, it just didn't handle as well day to day. Less composed. I know that the X5M has air and springs combination and of course it's all wheel drive.

I came from an F80 M3. I really love the X5M. I do miss tracking, so I'll end up with an older M3 for a dedicated track car.

Well tracking was not really to much of an option for me, the track is really far so for me that's not a cons so another +1 for X5 M.

Yeah. The X5M actually handles better than I expected. I weave through traffic like I did with my F80.

Oh, one thing is it does come with MPSS tires. If you live in colder climate you'll have to consider a set of winter wheels/tires just like the F80. I'm getting 20" wheels with Contis DWS for the winter. I love the DWS on the X5s.

How does the tranny in the X5M compare to the DCT in the M5? Anything else you miss about the M5? Does the steering in the X5M feel as nice as the M5? I love the steering feel in the m5 with the comp pack.

I sat in an X6M this weekend and the interior is nicer than my M5. Granted it had the full leather and mine just has the extended. I love the carbon fiber look as an option.

May consider the X6M as my next car when the M5 lease is up.

X5M is awesome, just not as visceral as my previous M6 or even M5. Great all around car. Miss my M6. Family first.
