Resolved today. Took my F16 to a good local coder, and had BDC_BODY downgraded to i-level 54.2, so now can read coding data in BDC_BODY without any errors. Downgrading went OK, no problems whatsoever

I have F16 M50d (January 2015 build, i-level 55.1) which I wanted to FDL code. Because in psdzdata 3.55.0 CAFD files are empty, I used 2.54.2. Everything worked well with all modules except for BDC_BODY.
When trying to read coding data from BDC_BODY, I got an error saying that CAFD_000017BE_005_028_213 is missing (which is true, there is no such CAFD either in 2.52.2 or in 3.55.0 data). So my local coder suggested we downgrade BDC_BODY to i-level 54.2 (I cannot recreate the process step-by step, but there have been discussions in F20 and F30 forums). After the downgrade, BDC_BODY requests another CAFD to read coding data, namely CAFD_000017BE_005_028_170, which does exist in 2.52.2. So I was then able to read data, change values I need and FDL code. |

Question for you an Opasha: After updating the FA Code to T2B and VO Coding all of the modules, are you able to alter the sport mode and Sport+ mode settings? I'm still hoping to be able to modify Chasis and Drivetrain settings to enable heavier steering in sport mode with the shift points of comfort mode |

If that is true, then it must be tied into another ECU folder that deals with it where these settings are directly modified. It would have to be in either ICM, EGS, or some place. DME I've looked at, and it's a very complicated ECU that doesn't seem to have anything to do with modifying settings like that.

I VO Coded BDC_Body and Kombi after adding 2TB to frankdipolo's Euro F15. It does not allow you to select it until you VO Code ICM. ICM is where the original Sport + code existed in all other BMWs so this makes sense. So to have Sport + and SAT, just do this and do it correctly:
1) Add to 2TB to FA 2) VO Code BDC_Body, Kombi, and ICM 3) Transmitter app - Clear All DTCs (error codes) because ICM coding will always give false chassis stability error and these errors put your MODE into COMFORT only and does not allow you to switch between them until cleared. You're done. You now have SAT, Sport+, and Launch Control on a non M-Sport vehicle .

Not sure. Could be. Better to do it anyway to be safe.

I guess there is an answer for this in this thread already, but I will try a short cut...
Is there an easy way to not get the night mode in you F15? I am afraid that my age (50) makes it a bit difficult to see those red (very small) figures when driving at night. The white day time mode all the time would be soooo much better... |

I will probably ask my BMW dealer if they can code this for me on my next visit! I don't really understand why there is a night time mode...the day time mode looks so much better! |

Dealerships cannot code this for you. This is FDL coding, which requires Esys. Do not talk about coding with your dealer or you run the risk of voiding your warranty if you have any coding done already.

I coded SAT using the instructions above but the KOMBI now started showing manual shift modes (M1, M2, etc) randomly even when I am in D. It doesn't stay that way all the time, instead it will switch between the M and D at random times. Is this normal with SAT? I am assuming not...

Hm... 17 ECU folders definitely seems a lot. However, I did not read coding data for the whole SVT, but only those I was interested in (BDC_BODY, HU_NBT, IHKA2, ACSM, KOMBI, and RSE), out of 40+. I will try to read coding data for all CAFD tomorrow and let you know. |

This is my I-step pic (the only downgraded module is BDC_BODY): If you wish to connect and browse E-Sys yourself, you are welcome. I will be available for that in around 5 hours from now. |
