They asked for 2-3 days to measure everything and see if they can locate splines and flange and we will go from there 👍
Keep us posted on how yours is performing. Looking forward to seeing the end result!

FYI my dealer evaluated my driveshaft and said that everything looks great. I have an updated model so it did not require a recall I guess. (2017 F85) Grateful, especially after a few track days and my "assertive" driving style. Hopefully it has some longevity built into it.

Crazy nice cars at the dealership, I want them all. I still want to drive my salesman's 2022 X3M too, and the new i4 just to feel the rush of acceleration in that thing.

Its hard to visually tell the condition, unless you can see the actual rust around the ujoints , otherwise pretty impossible. Many of the shafts that explode do that on a low mileage f85/86, there was one of the threads I commented on previously that vehicle had like 17k miles i think. I should have shafts coming in the next few days. Also will be fabricating dshaft loop this week as well 👍👍👍

Yeah, my tech was replacing some other items and had all of the covers off. He said the driveshaft looks great. I don't rule out upgrading to yours, just nice to know that it "looked great like everything else" usually does on my vehicle. A little peace of mind. (My F85 has 69K miles by the way)

Keep us posted!

I had a shop to build a shaft for me, but i am working on adjusting the design just a little, there are two spots id like to address, so we are redoing the whole thing, hoping to have better shafts available in a week/2 weeks likely

Pipe run out was too much, even though it balanced well. Issues with the dust cover they offered, we will be reusing factory dust boot. Yoke ujoints were binding, had to address this as well. So i am using another driveshaft company at this point, they have much more experience with bmw driveshafts, and they have major knowledge overall, have answer to all my questions, so far excellent experience. I am also working on the driveshaft sleeve , bottom part is finalized, top piece will be ready this week, hopefully will have bulk order available very soon

RealOEM tells me my F15 shares the same front driveshaft PN as an X5M. Interested in learning more!

It is same, reg f15 suffer oil pan damage/transmission housing damage/tcase spline damage, so upgraded driveshaft will be a solution

I go through a lot of challenges building this ds, I finally got the right high quality ujoints installed, you can get them from rockauto if they ever need replacement. Now i am adjusting splined section design , literally 2-3 weeks from having it finalized and ready to go. Takes a little extra time but end product will be fire
