Another Wheel/Tire/Offset Question (Sorry)

I searched. A Lot.

Anyways... looking to surprise the wife with some wheels for her 2014 X5. Looking at some staggered Niche M227's. They're 20x9 et37 and 20x10.5 et 37. She currently has the 255/50R19 stock square set up. According to willtheyfit.com, I should be good with the BMW 275/40R20 & 315/35R20 setup as the fronts are identical, but the rears will be 0.75" farther out and 0.75" further in. Any possible issues?

Thanks in advance!

Since we know that her X5 can run any of the 20” F15 X5 wheels...compare the wheel/tire combos for one or more of those wheels (on the www.willtheyfit.com website) with the ones you want to surprise her with and see how much poke & inset difference there is.

If the OE 20” wheel/tire combo difference is very small...then you shouldn’t have any problems. More than likely the dimensions of the aftermarket wheel is less than those of the OE 20” BMW wheels.

If you don’t know what the wheel specs are for the OE 20” wheels...just look them up on one of the online part database sites like realism.com or bimmercat.com. The tire specs you already know.

That's what I did. It'll poke 0.75" out more than a factory 20" and be 0.75" further in than a factory 20" wheel. I was just checking to see if that's going to be an issue.

Those are very close to stock. And how can they stick out and in at the same time?

He's comparing to the stock 9" non staggered wheels vs to new wider rears, same offset.

Personally I would try to find something with a bit more offset for the rears, to fill the wheel well, or talk to Ben, RG33 about adding spacers. Not for fitment, but for looks.

those are very close to stock 20 wheels. Rims are little narrower, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Ah yeah you guys are right. I was comparing to the stock 9" wide 19's. You're right though, if they don't look right in the back, I can easily add some spacers.

Thanks for helping me think that through haha

Using the F15 oe 20" staggered wheel/tire combo and comparing it to the 20" aftermarket wheel specs you gave in post #1...there doesn't seem to be that much difference in the front or the rear.

Orange is the oe BMW wheel/tire combo and Green is the aftermarket wheel/tire combo. As far as poke..the front wheels stick out less using the aftermarket set up more than the rear versus the original BMW 20" staggered wheel/tire combo:

Also, with a giant lip/dish like that, the wheel would look like 18" or 19".

Try to choose a design where the spokes go all the way to the edge of the wheel.

Good call there too. That may change the look completely.
