Tap off engine oil before it goes low and keep driving and enjoying it.
Let it go at 200k.

Would you even be able to replace the engine? I was looking at the settlement and it looks like the deadline was last February

Or you risk having one go bad, flood the cylinder with gas which cleans out the oil, with the result being a scored cylinder, and need of replacement engine...
Do you know if this is documented anywhere? The injectors causing engine failure. I need an engine in my F15 5.0i. Just out of warranty. The dealership wants to see something that says the injectors are the cause of the engine failure. I got a misfire randomly on cylinder 8 and 6. No compression in cylinder 8. Was running perfect until then. They gave me like 27k quote.

I don't know of anything that documents this exact scenario, can't help you there. Just know more than one person have had scored cylinders and loss of compression. I was told that it was due to an injector not shutting down, and flushing the oil out of the cylinder, causing the failure.

Mine was out of warranty when this happened, so I didn't worry about any documents for why it happened since I had to pay for the new engine.
$27K sounds like a dealership "go away" price. You can possibly save 10k+ by using an independent mechanic, if you feel the X5 is worth it.

Good luck.
