iDrive: Seat Heating Distribution

Friends,

Need a bit of clarity on this feature. Owner’s Manual states that heating action (between seat cushion, back rest) can be adjusted by accessing Climate Functions in iDrive.

I can access Climate Functions; however, there is no option in the menu for heating seat distribution. Only options available are to turn on/off rear ventilation and the air circulation feature.

So, any idea why this option is not available for me even though I have heated seats? Any trick or “hidden menu” I need to access or make this option available?

Thanks!

That is ONLY available if you have the comfort seats. I am not sure if the sport seats are included in that.

If you have the "base" seats with heat, you don't have that option. I recently went through this trying to find out why my seat back wasn't heating. I found that the heater is shorted out in the seat back and needs replacing.

Gotcha. That’s what I was thinking, but wanted to double-check just in case.

Thanks for clarifying, and hope your repair is a quick one.
