Coder and scan tool in 1?

I need to do rear brake pads on my wife's 2014 X5 F15 and I would also like to do some minor coding, ie, change color of interior lights, etc.

Anyone know of a good scan tool that can retract the e-parking brake, as well as allow me to do some coding?

Is there a good unit that will do both - diagnostic scanning and coding?

Is Carly my best option?

Buy a BT dongle from Amazon. $20?
Bimmer Link - for reading error codes and troubleshooting. can adjust exhaust flaps, parking brake for service mode ect
Bimmer Code - for coding.

Out the door for less than $60 with those two Apps and if you leave the BT dongle in the car, you'll always have your level 1 diag gear on you while driving

Fantastic. That's what I'll do. Sounds like the cheapest and best solution. I appreciate it.

Are you sure Bimmerlink can put brakes into service mode? I just went through the app using Veepeak BT module and I couldn't find any parking brake options.

I have a 2014 X5 f15....maybe the option doesn't come up because there is no need to retract e-parking brake for that model x5?...trying to change rear brake pads.

Park brake is behind the center hat, drum style on the F15 BMW. For just pads, it is NOT needed.

Yes, BimmerLink can do it.

Just a heads up that you don't need to do anything special or any coding with the e-brake for rear pads and/or rotors on the f15.
