I wouldn't say it's a huge issue, but I know of at least 8 S63TU engines that have seized/failed in the last 2yrs or less in my area. That is why I will be doing oil samples and changing my oil every 4months/2k miles.

Given the similarity between the S63 and N63 bottom end, and the table values are exactly the same for the same condition, same bolt size/thread, and same procedure, I will be using 180 degrees for step 15 for the S63, which is the value I would have used anyways without the equivalent N63 value correlation....the N63 portion is below:

Thank you very much. i will start by wednesday the job…i’m still waiting for the rod bearings to arrive. i will make photos for the entire procedure.

How many of the 8 engine are stock no tune driven by adults?

They are definitely worn, but not horrible. How many miles? I'm assuming the more worn ones were the bottom caps? I heard from the factory the used coated bearings on the rod end.

And those are them all. The car has 92k km (almost 60k miles) it is stage 2+ 750hp crank. Always driven like a M car . I bought it at 72k km and after that only Motul 300v 0w40 changed every 5000 km.

Grease only the crank/inner/journal side, not the side that clicks into and touches the rod. You can use oil, or good assembly lube. The only real difference for this, is if you let it sit for along time before cranking it. Then use assembly.



That is definitely a bit of wear. Curious, how are the cylinder bores looking?

Are you doing this with the engine still in the car or did you pull it completely?

i do that with the engine still on the car. I used assembly lube from liqui moly.

I have a question about the assambly. do you know if the bushing of the active sway bar have a precise position? because when i took off the bushings may they rotated and maybe they are not on the same position. Do you know if that count or not? i hope i was clear about my question.

If you do end up popping those plugs, or looking from underneath. Let us know what those bores look like.

I still can't find the answer to my question. Does the bushings have an exact precise position? Because i think they were spinning from the original position. And i don't know if they made a full spin or maybe a little spin, please help me understand if that have to have a precise number of spinning or this can be calibrated later.

I would guess it doesn't matter, as long as the bushing is oriented/keyed correctly as per instructions.

I hope so. I already mounted it. Maybe tomorrow i will finish to mount the rest and take it for a ride.

You can try with a micrometre, but use a ball ended one. A regular flat or straight will not work. Jus measure the dead centre of the bottom of the bearing, not the edges or sides.

You could also set up a rig with a deflection gauge against a known good. Or a bore gauge, when the bearings are in the piston.

Sorry guys for not updating. I have a problem with a company in Germany (PS-Satlerei). I sent my steering wheel to them for carbon modification on 29th January, they said it will be done in 6 weeks. We are on 29th of March and nothing, they reply to my mails very rare, they say like…we have it done…we send you photo of it today… that was a week ago…and still nothing. That is why i couldn’t take it for a drive. I started the engine it’s working excellent. i let it run for 1-2 hours, i made some revs (no problem with the neighbors &#128514, it’s very smooth and no any strange noises or something else. I will let you know when i will have the steering wheel, if i will still have it :|
