I was never looking at getting a black car. It's probably the only colour where the M-Sport without the trim pieces looks any good

The trim pieces do make the M sport kit look so much better. Why can't BMW just include those as standard? At least not on US models. They probably want to differentiate the M50D model.

Uh, just install 1 on BSM X5 35d today with the open grills, forgot to take a picture.
The parts are OEM BMW parts.

There are a lot of things to differentiate between the M50d then the regulars.
Such as the M logo all over the car, the extended rear badge on the lift gate.

5 minutes job, give a good clean, put some quality glue and job done, but I think I will remove them, because I want paint them in white...
