Does this chip work on top of M Performance Power Kit?
I had my MPPK installed and wonder if there is conflict if the RaceChip is added on top of it.

Based on the way those Piggyback tuning chip work, it will work on top of the M Performance Power Kit. But, it may not be safe.
Because the way those tuning chip work is just tricking the reading of the sensors and inputing a wrong information to the ECU which causing the ECU to tell the engine to push more power.
So, in your case, I do believe it will push more power, but it will be basing the base number on the gain that you have from the MPPK. With that, you most likely pushing the engine beyond the safe limit of the engine itself.
Unless, with those combo, you are doing more mods to the engine, such as, upgraded fuel injector, fuel pump, intercooler, turbo, etc.

Luckily our engines are equipped with enough safety precautions to throw a CEL and pull timing if anything is sensed to be out of ordinary. Unlike many others piggybacks this one not only uses boost sensors but also air/fuel sensor and Maf sensor. The ecu is not as restrictive as f10 m5 ones and you can actually have semi control over it with the option to control your hp and tq increases individually.

A quick question, on the RaceChip website (http://www.racechip-usa.com/chiptuni...rive35i-225kw/) - chips are listed as TB. dtmhaus shows it as CR- different naming convention or what? Also, i'm a bit concerned pushing the engine 29% right of the bat, unless you can start 'slow' and gradually 'push' the' tune.

OK found the video on adjusting the chip, now to find about adjusting the 'initial' setting to maybe 15% or 20% boost.

I must say guys, I dropped off my X5 off Monday afternoon and took my RaceChip out because I was having warranty work done, and what a difference it makes when the unit is removed from the motor. I plugged it in today and drive it around with the new 599 wheels and bot does it give it a nice boost! Loving the 599's, they really give it a new look! Back to the RaceChip, it's worth every penny, just do it. You'll be glad you spent the money! The plus is it takes 4-5mins to install and remove.

Hey Joe,

Is there any boost controller to be installed in the center console in order to change the boost level on the fly?

Hi Ray, no there isn't any. I have it set at E/2 and have zero issues with boost or power. Zero CEL's and I must say it gives it the power it deserves.

Hi r33,

That's exactly what I'm worrying about... 300+20+89 hp = 409hp
That just seems too much for a 3.0T SUV...but I really wonder how it pushes to its limit.

Thanks for the info!

Yes, there is one for 50i.
Same price, but only 14%HP boost from 443 to 507hp.

You control how much power you want to add with the settings on the tune.

No doubt about the N55 engine capability, it has been proven. But don't miss the other mods needed to avoid fuel starvation, better air flow, etc.

With all this talks about RaceChip, it makes me wonder about those guys that were having discussion with me regarding modding my truck with BMS JB4, Brembo, etc.

Also, now it makes me wonder the difference between BMS JB4 and RaceChip.

No need for other mods at the stage that we achieve by using a piggyback.
OEM injectors are at 71% of their capacity and even with the slight boost increase the car does not show any lean curves on a air/fuel ratio.
Have you datalogged your car? I suggest doing so and you will feel much safer. If you need help with dyno/datalogging and reading graphs let me know. All the F series cars have been dyno proven to have excellent airflow without the possibility for improvement.
You would need extra injectors if you run a lot more boost, upgrade turbos, run standalone ecu or some other extreme form of tuning, but not at our stage.

Has anyone actually installed and been using the Racechip? I'm considering ordering this for my F15 35i, but wanted to get some real world feedback from a few users before making the leap.

Thanks in advance

I tried to get couple of my friends to join the forum and post, but they refuse to join public forums. They have used the tune and love what the car became after.

Has anyone done the RaceChip tune on the 5.0i? https://www.racechip-usa.com/chiptun...ive-50i-330kw/

I'm considering it, but my cousin told me that BMW has a tool that tells them every time the engine settings are modified with a tune. If this is truly plug and play...is it really factory stock when you take it in for service? I know many of you guys have gone in for service without issue, but what about those guys that have had actual engine issues? Have you guys had any warranty problems or red flags? I remember reading a post where some guy from the MB forums screwed up his car and voided his warranty, but a few members said it was user error. I just want to be safe before taking a plunge into this RaceChip. I know many are very happy and I want to join in. Any feedback is appreciated. I'm still deciding between this or holding off until Dinan (that has 4 year 50K warranty approved by BMW). Thank you .
