How do I upgrade NBTevo_L to NBTevo_X?

I have a BMW X5 2018 with Apple CarPlay, my issue is, apple CarPlay is 3/4 of the screen and I want to make it full screen. I currently have the NBTevo_L17252I and I’m trying to upgrade it to the NBTevo_Y or the NBTevo_X. How do I upgrade it to the NBTevo_Y or NBTevo_X?

I had success, myself. Not for the faint of heart, though - quite scary when you sit through the long flash wondering if you just jacked up your vehicle!

When i had to do this on another BMW i just went to ebay and there are people selling the service to do this for like...$30-50.

Look up Bimmer Remote. They helped me update firmware and flash fullscreen CarPlay for something like $50.

I told my service advisor that iDrive was flickering/restarting on its own (it wasn't), so he updated to the latest version of firmware to enable full screen CarPlay. I think he charged me $100 or something for the firmware, coding for CarPlay was obviously separate as dealers won't do that.
