Rear passenger light won't stay on?

My 15 month old hates the dark. In our 3 series, I could just reach to the center to turn the light on and it would stay on. PUT...in the X5...it's too far back...so we have to open the door, turn the light on and then shut the door. Problem is that when I drive away, light turns off.

Ugh...

Anyone have any ideas? Maybe a portable LED that I can stick somewhere with a remote? ha.
