Does anyone have comparison videos? Cabin sound ASD vs. no ASD?

My vehicle is coded, bunch of different things. I just went in for service and they changed my battery and all the coding remained. Nothing changed. Also coding ASD off means you can't put it back on unless you code it back. Pulling a fuse is easier and you can put it back or pulling the plug in the trunk is also the same.

I wish I can do this remotely while I'm driving

Unplugged fuse #129. It's 15 amp and blue in color - for those of you looking to do this mod. Definitely quieter in the cabin but my B&O system sounds better.

On my 2016 X5M I disabled ASD via pulling the plug in the trunk, but soon plugged it back in as I felt as though it was missing in sound in the cabin somewhat.

I now have a 2018 X5M and it's coded off, and I prefer it off.

Can't explain why. Maybe going from 34 to 36 years old was the tipping point to getting old and I prefer a quieter cabin.

I have NO idea why someone would rather unplug the ASD (pain in the ass) vs pull a fuse (easy).

Besides, now I have an extra 15 amp fuse.

You need to do the exhaust flap mod and keep them open all the time. Gives the car a little growl, as in in sport + all the time but without the sport + throttle response.

Pulled fuse #129 today
the difference in the stereo (B&O) sound quality was immediate. Better bass, overall sig improvement. Funny, when the radio is down low or off, the exhaust/intake sounds the same as before. If you have a moment to try this, I suggest you do.
Pulling the fuse took all of 15 seconds, easier than trying to work my hand around the back of the amp.

Just tried this. Honestly I don’t listen to music all that much since I got this car because I always want to hear the engine/exhaust - similar to this prior comment I don’t really notice a difference in the exhaust sound and while i think the audio sounds a little better perhaps it’s equally likely because I read this thread and expected it

Wanted to confirm that fuse 129 will eliminate the ASD. Could not code it for the life of me with Bimmercode and it's not an option on the main screen or under HU for my 2014 f15 x5. B&O sounds amazing now, wish I would have done it a long time ago. Side note: when coding some other things, it reset my audio settings so be sure to take a pic of your equalizer settings first!

Bimmer code and Carly easily turns it on or off.. I didn't want to pull any fuses so I went with the coding option and it's been a few years now and all is still well.

Something about pulling fuses and expensive high end vehicles just makes me cringe a little 😂

Same. Or having a random power cable dangling around other high $$ electronic equipment.

The safest way for me. it should have been designed to run normal with a fuse pulled out
