I really like to know how to deal with it, too.

I heard friends said you have to remove or carry away or report to policy who can request the agencies to remove it.

I also heard that you should stay away from the animal. The wounded and frightened deer may use its strong legs and sharp hooves to harm you.

I guess if we really care it, we will have to call local Police and let them deal with it professionally.

Yes report it - likely the animal will be blocking a portion of the road and your insurance may want a police report number.

If animal is wounded and unable to get away from you, it's likely scared as **** and I would not get close. Another reason to call police is they can legally kill an animal that can not be saved (been there done that with this one).

This advice is spot on. Always call in local law enforcement. At the very least, let the dispatcher know what you're doing. That's a recorded call.

We actually had a situation locally where a driver was nearly prosecuted for: poaching, shooting from a roadway, and illegal discharge of a firearm after "putting a deer down" after the deer was severely injured in a car-strike. Ethically there was no question. Safety-wise, he was totally clear. I'm the eyes of the law, he shot a deer in season without a deer license, while standing on a WI roadway... you get the idea.

DNR Wardens have TREMENDOUS power... if they misread a situation, or decide on a literal interpretation of statute in an incorrect application, you can quickly find yourself locked up and be fighting in court to get your vehicle & firearm back.

Most of the wardens I've met are very good. But there's always an outlier in any career who's in the bottom 20%, right? Don't meet that guy after putting yourself in a compromised situation.

That stinks! I'd be so annoyed with the car after something like that.

Yeah, usually never the same after an accident, but at least it wasn't anything structural.

Anyways, finally got my car back today with a few extra mods.

Thanks to r33_RGSport again for another set of grills and bits (hopefully won't need a 3rd set anytime soon lol)

Jlu88 , your car is stunning!!! No wonder that deer can't stay away from your car.
Hopefully it won't happen again.

Looks great and glad to hear no one was hurt. If you hit the deer straight on your license plate frame bumper would have absorbed the hit 😃

That's a very cool license plate bumper. Glad everyone is OK and the car is fixed flawlessly.

Thanks guys!

That license plate is pretty solid, to be honest it will probably crack the bumper if someone reversed into it hard enough
