Did anyone ever determine which connector to pull out for the X6M?

Thanks

Is the small box on top of amp the ASD unit I have to disconnect? My fat fingers can't reach the connector

I unhooked mine on my 2016 X6m last night and my car sounds SOOOOOOOO much better now! It is just asinine that BMW puts this in a car and doesn't make a simple setting to toggle it on or off... took me less than 10 mins total. I unbolted it so my fat fingers could easily reach the connector that needed to be removed.

Here's the panel on the driver's side rear that it is behind, a simple pull and it pops out:

Here's what's behind there:

There are two 5/6" nuts that come off easily with a deep socket. You can see the one in the front, but there's another one in the back in the exact same spot.

This is after the first one is removed:

And with both nuts removed and the unit pulled out:

Push the little grey button in and slide the black lever over it and the connector comes right off:

Put the heat sink unit back onto the bolts, tuck the wire and connector up behind there, and re-install the 2 nuts holding the heat sink onto the bracket and voila! Push the cover panel back on and your ears will be saved going forward!

No doubt the fake sound is terrible. The new M5 has it and is being blasted by the test Mags. I’ll have to figure how to disable that one in March.

Thanks for posting this. I have my car at OnEighty getting some work done so as soon as I get it back, I'll be doing this.

There is any wire harness or something that can enable/disable ASD while driving?

You may think I'm crazy but sometimes I want to hear the fake sound

I cannot for one second understand you people that pull the plug on the ASD rather than the fuse.

1) power still going down the cable needlessly
2) takes max 10 seconds to pull the fuse
