This is odd indeed. There certainly are minor differences in the rear seats between F85/F86 rear seats. They mostly seem to be in the cushioning depth. Making the X6 M seats lowered to the bottom of the floor, based on the need to get more headroom based on the X6 m roof design. If you closely compare the videos I posted above, I feel like the depth of the X6 M rear armrest is deeper, where it might allow a useable compartment.
I imagine there is also some thought to how well the seats fold nearly flat for purposes of total cargo space and utility. Ultimately, if you think about it, there are a ton of differences in the design of the X6 M that make it different than the X5 M. There are no b-pillar air vents on the X6 M, like there are on the X5 M. Different front fender vents. Overall length of the X6 M is longer than the X5 M. Completely different roof, rear end, and as I mentioned the rear seat, and as we are discussing, rear seat arm rest. |

I agree and appreciate that breakdown but there are no differences between F15 and F85 yet the F85 does not receive the storage bin but the F15 does.
