What would YOU like to have changed on the new F95 BMW X5M ?

1. 600HP M5 engine
2. CLAR/Updates designed to delete 300lbs.
3. 2wd option for easy Dyno.
4. Lightweight option that includes a full Carbon Fiber roof (I don’t need glass), ceramic brakes, Titanium exhaust and a rear lithium battery. Should drop another 150lbs.
5. No steering “click”.
6. No brake noise.

Those enhancements would drop the 0-60mph to 3.40 seconds and the 1/4 mile to 11.50 (BEFORE RACECHIP !)

What do YOU want ?

BMW watches this board, so let them know what you want !

CLAR is the new structural platform BMW is using to cut weight, add strength and cut costs. Stands for Cluster Architecture. Combines high strength steel, aluminum and carbon fiber. Cool upgrade.

No problem talking about the wheels...I'm over the disappointment. Ordered September 21 with a 4 to 5 week promise. Latest should have been October 26 based on Vossen. Obviously they lied to get the $. Nothing has shipped or even have a shipping date. I'm sure they will arrive sometime with a "story".

Did I see you posting on the Vette Forum ? ZO6 hunting?

Be sure to spend some time in one before buying. I bought a new 2017 ZO6 and sold it a few months later... M has spoiled me !

I think you mean "What do you want on the Generation of X5M/X6M *after* the F95 generation.

The F95 prototype vehicles are already on the road. That means the feature set has been determined a few years ago. It's MUCH too late to influence the F95 (except in very minor ways: Colors of leather... tire choice... etc.).

No Vette hunting for me. I've never had an itch for a Vette. Even though they can be intriguing on paper

Give me a real DCT. the zf is great, but the driving experience is not close.

Make the v8 punch harder at the top end, I hit the rev limiter because that engine does a poor job of peaking and conveying the rpms during wot. I never hit the rev limiter on the m3 because that engine feels amazing.

structurally i doubt the carbon roof will ever be an option on the x5m.

M performance exhaust option that isn't stupid expensive and outsourced to akropovic simply because it's titanium. The weight savings are laudable on an SUV so just make it out of the same stainless steel and give it some sound without making us pay Ferrari sports exhaust prices.

Carbon fiber roof would be silly on the X models. Maybe the x6M.

The cars are already making 640+ hp according to Dinan's engine dyno so power isn't an issue.

If we really want serious weight savings then a CCB option like Porsche has would be nice but in reality you don't get the performance unless it's on track.

If everyone's really serious about weight savings then use the same carbon core tech used on the 7 series. No need for a cfrp roof, 8k titanium exhaust or 9k ccb's. Save 350 to 400lbs right there.

More comfortable seats. The seats in my f10 M5's were much more comfy than these seats. Though these look really cool, the other seats had a much nicer head rest that could be adjusted.

The transmission could be smoother. Get rid of the ridiculous park brake or whatever it has to disengage to accelerate after a full stop. Really drives me and i'm assuming everyone else crazy lol.

No more wheel bearing ticking.

Make black wheels an option from the first year.

Have you tried adjusting the head rest forward/backward to fit ? Helps me on long trips.

The headrest is very stiff. Not sure what you mean by adjusting since it doesn't have that nice little plush part that you could fold from the f10. The good thing is that the side bolsters don't disengage and engage when you get in or out of the car like the f10. Mine would make a farting sound each time haha. But the headrest is very stiff on the X.

You can electrically move the headrest front to back, just not up and down. On long trips I’ll move it forward to rest against it.

Ah yes, that's not the issue. That's more like for your entire upper body.

You can actually just move the headrest independent of the upper body.

I know what your talking about but that's not really the headrest. I've had lots of bmw's with the same thing and it bends in the middle of the seat. I don't know, doesn't really do anything in the comfort department for me. I think it should have an actual adjustable headrest that moves up and down and can fold around the head. These also don't have the active head rest safety feature to protect against whip lash where the head rest would eject forwards in an accident.

Overall , I just want more power and less weight. Weight is the devil for handling and acceleration. With my mods, I’m slightly over 700 engine HP now. If the drivetrain was strong enough, I could easily enjoy another 150hp.

I just want some little tweaks.
Bear in mind, I have the E70M.

1) The window switches are too far up front when you want to lower the front windows. I always lower my rear window instead on the first try. There are still at least 2 or 3 inches before the seat goes all the way back.

2) Same kind of thing, I hit the B pillar a lot getting in and out of the car because the seat is behind it. I’m not that tall at 6’1.

3) The power goes off on the 12V sockets exactly 30 minutes after stopping the vehicle. I had the dealer install a bypass directly to the battery for the socket in the armrest to be able to charge my phone while the car is parked.

4) The cruise control is disabled when DSC is off. Is there a coding for that?

5) I want to be able to completely disable the speed volume.

6) I want to be able to specify the speed of my intermittent wipe manually or automatically. I hate when the rain sensor goes berserk even when adjusting the sensitivity.

7) I hate that X5 owners have options that we don’t have (active cruise control)

8) The car is a pain to tank. The nozzle clicks but the tank isn’t full yet. You have to go to 4 or 5 clicks slowly before the car is full. The height of the fuel filler flap is too high.

9) Fix the damn speed overestimation of the BMWs

10) Be able the choose in iDrive if I want my radio volume control on the left side or right side of the steering heel.

11) Beat the speed of the Trackhawk hands down.

Adding what I know about the F85

12) Never again put ASD (active sound design) in a car

13) Just make a PARK button again on the shifter or elsewhere

And then it would be a perfect car

I hope they do not hold the M for 1 year like before. Release them together !
