Sure looks like it, doesn't it? I must have driven the Palm to Pines five times in four days when I visited Head out each evening, hit the Palms to Pines, and loop back to Palm Desert on 10 and 111 past all the windmills. Beautiful drive every time.

I'm with you, I don't get the resemblance, but I do find the back end is awful, especially the tail lights . It doesn't match the rest of the vehicle.
I do find it to be fantastic looking, with the exception of the back end. It's the first of the new models that I have really liked and will consider purchasing.

Thanks friend for your answer.! I respect your opinion about Palm.

It seems that this trend among the destinations of people.

In my opinion it is very desert to live there.

I'm the type of people that prefer a place where there is lots forests or mountainous temperate or perhaps near a bay where abound sea water or weather.
Here in the United States there are several really amazing places for me among them are the states of Seattle, Oregon, Colorado, Virginia, sea and forest areas of California, Maryland and some other more with some really stunning scenery.

How about a place like this to film a video?

This pinchy, angry-eyed version of BMW seems to be working with marketing. They have increased in sales, but lost their spark of "Floor it!" that I normally feel when entering a new BMW.

What about the times when BMW Was just trying to make a good car instead of a cheap sale? I hope BMW can still pull off a few good cars before they lose me as a customer. I really hate watching this wonderful company get stolen by 5 person families in 320i's.

Indeed, it is incredibly barren there. There are some interesting aspects of the geography though. The mountains to the west of Palm Springs and Palm Desert form a rainshadow over the region. However, when you drive the Palms to Pines, you pass through to the other side of this geography with startling abruptness. You literally turn a corner from an area that looks like Mars and see a line of pine trees arranged as neatly as if a line lumberjacks staffed the ridges of the mountains, policing the advance of the forest expansion.

While barren, the desert portion of the drive is still interesting. It feels other-worldly. The rocks are weather worn and have had all their soft bits washed away. They're somewhat rounded, but the wearing along cracks causes large separations, giving the appearance that the rocks were stacked up in large formations, rather than having been carved from a solid piece of earth. It's a really different looking place.

Don't get me wrong. I love a great forest drive. I find the Palm Desert area interesting though.

I think BMW did with purpose to highlight its new exterior paint finish for the X6.
BMW brand and we want to show all different places.
However they are places that should have very little water.
The high cost to be bring it from elsewhere.
I would die of heat.
So I prefer to visit or inhabit places with temperate climates.

Top Gear magazine said it best when they compared how similar X4 and X6 are in lookd: "New BMW X6 - so good they made it twice".

Wish it looked more different compared to the X5's front end. Last gen was wild, this current gen is too rounded and soft on the looks Liked the E70 X5 and previous X6 better...

The good thing is that I rather keep my 2010 X6M since I feel the look of the current model is way more agressive from any angle, maybe the only good angle of the upcoming model is the sides, other than that, is a pass for me....

I think its because in England Diesel is £1.4/L ~$2.30L so that's 'only' ~£120 a tank vs ~£130

Here in Costa Rica, 99% of X6's sold are
30d and price per liter is US $1.15, we dont have 35d because our diesel is poor quality and will clog the microparticular filters

Oh ya, I truly loved having a 24gal tank in my E53. Going from 17mpg with a 24gal tank to 14mpg with a 19gal tank truly sucked.

For all I care, they can take the lbs they shaved off the weight of the F16 and put it straight in the gas tank to have it even out.
