Where are ppl installing the RC box itself?

Is there a way to hide it so during regular service (ie. oil change) theres no need to uninstall? maybe under the airbox?
If you want to hide it, you can go through the driver side fender and route it under the cover below the windshield where the brake booster is located.
Then I normally uses a velcro for easy removal.

If you want something easy to remove, you can always mount it anywhere like Kzang does it.

I installed Racechip on my 35i Yesterday. Thank you r33_RGSport for the discounted price on the racechip !

Haven't gotten a chance to drive it around that much. Have it on default S2=B setting right now. Waiting for this weekend. Will update after !

I'm at S2=D and I think I will stay here for now. I'm satisfied with the throttle response, the power and how quick it makes my 35i

I've not really paid attention to the any gains or usages in mpg yet. I have to fill up this weekend so I will see how it goes.. Based on the last full tank that I am using now.. I don't see any changes.

Yea I dont think you'll see any MPG gains unless you're cruising 65-75mph, but the good thing the RaceChip will require less pedal i've noticed.
Also if I drive hard it consumes adequate gas but not as bad as it would stock.
I wouldn't drive my car without it

BTW I saw you in Ctown either Weds or Thurs morning. Saw your X5 parked right on Bowery.
Ever thought about dynoing the car? I think we're all curious what the real tuned numbers are, the MPPK with and without RC.

With the weather we're currently having it'll be a BIG waste of money to Dyno lol. I would say drag-strip 1/4 mile a few runs, 2-3 runs with RaceChip off, 3 runs with RC on (on diff settings).
I can't wait to go again I did 9 runs for $25 and got there late.

Just curious, for those who are bumping up their settings to more aggressive maps, what is your process for making sure the engine is happy with it?

On the E90 forums, where people log, they're logging the timing Corrections on all 6 Cylinders And looking forward drops there, as well as some of the other parameters. I know with Cobb, it was super easy to do and export the logs.

With the JB tunes, I can't recall if you can do it via the tune, or using the Bavarian Technic cable, but again, people do logging before bumping up maps.

Are you logging? And if so, with what?

What are you looking for exactly?
I simply ran each setting for a week and then bumped up 2 notches at a time. I got up to 5 but it threw a CEL relatively quickly (too much air), although it still ran OK. I have ran it on 4 for the last couple of months. Sport mode is where the beast really comes alive. These extreme ranges do come with a sacrifice of smoothness when the power is applied (think of it as a really hot setting). Setting 4 also throws a CEL once in a great while, so I've concluded it's not ideal for the regular daily driving setting. I've decided to notch it back to 3 this weekend and see how that goes.

I've purchased different tuners before including Dinan for my old 50i, so have some experience when it comes to ROI with regards to performance. IMO RC is definitely worth the $$$.

Pdawg, That is crazy I'm only two notches up from default (B to D) and and I think this is already beast! At setting 5 you are like 8 settings up from my setting D!!

I went from B (default) to C the first month (March) I had my 2015 x35i. After a couple of weeks I went to E. I have not touched it since. I am very happy.

I have an xLine, so I had to code in Sport and Sport+.

I am thinking about getting the MPPK and placing the RaceChip Ultimate on top of it. Thoughts? Does it stay smooth? What parts do they change when they install the MPPK?

They do not change any parts. It's a software update and they put stickers on the engine cover and if you want they have stickers you can put on the side skirts.

Yea, I have noticed many positive post. I just did not know if it was worth doing if I already have the RaceChip. I thought maybe they improved the exhaust or air filter, in addition to the software.

I am all for more fun though......
