Space Saving Spare

Hey all. Picking up my new 3.5 X5 Friday!!! I did not get to custom order but found a pretty close match on a lot at a dealer. It does not have a third row and does not have a space saving spare. I am putting winter tires on (not run flats) and want to get a spare to put in the open space under the back trunk.

Is this something I can get at a dealership? Can I get one online? Tire Rack?

Thanks in advance !

The X5 that comes with storage and not the space saver tire has a different area under the trunk lid. And the space saver will not fit it there.

Here is a popular option for those who forego runflats.

Is that kit applied before to prevent or after the fact in event of a flat? Do I install it or is this something my mechanic can install?

Thanks

PS wasn't aware that the storage under the trunk wouldn't fit a space saving spare...that's sucks!

It's for when your tire goes flat. You inject the sealant then use the car powered pump to re-inflate the tire. Then you drive somewhere that can replace that tire.

Click on this earlier thread and scroll down for what the under trunk area looks like with the space saver tire.
