I didn't realize the steering response on the '76 Caddy was so advanced for it's time. Good to know. |

That's an interesting thought. You would think the steering would just require coding.

So I've just read a blog of x5 owner who dropped his car on H&R springs and swapped stock wheels to 22 inch with low profile tires. He is saying car handling improved dramatically, even steering became stiffer and it's no longer possible to turn it with one finger like he used to on stock springs/wheels. He claims he needs to really pull steering wheel now like on older E series sedans. He is saying he is now enjoying twisted roads and turns as body roll is dramatically reduced.
I'm thinking maybe that's the missing link that f15 needs? Can anyone with H&R and 22 rims share experience? Thank you |

For me, the steering did not change at all and is just way too loose. You really do not feel any of the road through the steering wheel. Honestly I would describe the steering as unsafe feeling if you're trying to push it.

I just can't go 22". Would make the brakes look like I swapped over to a 3 series set up lol. I would have to scratch my M brakes for some Brembo 405s or something. And such a small tire would only make the road less smooth. There's a balance but I don't think 22" is that balance. Idk man. Plus 20" tires are expensive enough as it is lol. I can only imagine. Maybe if I lived somewhere with better roads.
Also less side wall should make the steering easier. Just saying.

There is a noticeable, but not huge, difference between my 21” summer setup and my 19” winter set as far as firmness of ride and steering feel. 21’s are a bit firmer and steering is a bit more responsive.

I mean you will definitely feel the difference day to day but for $2500....I'd rather have X5M brakes lol Shite. I also have DHP sooooo maybe this isn't a great comparison.

I have adaptive M suspension and it seems to work pretty well. 🤷🏻*♂️ Also, for that money I'd probably go up to 22's for summer, or maybe carbon splitter
