Replacing the 6WA Cluster - Coding
All,
My existing cluster has some issues, I have purchased a used cluster that needs to be coded to my cars vin#. From research I have done the only option I have found is to take out the EEPROM, reprogram it and re-solder it back on the cluster. I wondering if anyone has done this using a simpler method? Thanks, Frank |

I've seen vignizing service sold on Ebay as well as one of the forum members was offering it, or you can DIY (https://www.motor-talk.de/forum/akti...hmentId=722387). You don't need to take solder the chip out but you do need to take the cluster apart in order to connect the EEPROM reader.
