Will F15 have integrated trailer hitch?

Any word on whether F15 will have an integrated trailer hitch as an option? I have had a factory hitch installed on two E70's. It takes a full day at the dealership, costs over a grand, and requires hacking the rear bumper and adding an ugly trim piece. Needs an integrated hitch like most other SUVs. Self leveling suspension (without third row seat) would be great as well.

I would think so...but as with all of us, yet to see details. The best option would be that electrically deployed tow bar, makes it really simple and if you're factory ordering would be much simpler than retro-fitting (if possible with this option).

In Europe the integrated trailer hitch is in the options: 3AC

It's electric and available both with the regular rear bumper and with the M sport rear bumper.

But in the US, I suppose the trailer hitch is different ? (square opening ?)

I see 8SL - Trailer hitch prewiring but I don't know there will actually be a trailer hitch installed.

Maybe there will be a way to disable the rear pdc in driver settings when using things like a bike rack !!

Can anyone confirm whether the F15 comes with a trailer hitch?

OK ... good news. The class III hitch is now available for the F15

82712349501 Genuine BMW Rear Transport Class III Towing Adapter $350

Genuine BMW Rear Transport Class III Towing Adapter. (6,000 lb towing/600 lb tongue weight) Requires Rear Click-On Cross Member. The removable Class III Towing Adapter is a first-to-market solution that improves the safety and reliability of heavier towing applications. It features a 2” ball attachment that is positioned as closely to the vehicle as possible to minimize the impact the tow load may have on the driving dynamics of the X5. In addition, it assures that the customer uses the appropriate ball sizes specified for high-towing loads.

Class III + towing capability (6,000 lb towing, 600 lb tongue weight)

Two positions for ball height

Click-on attachment feature for ease of removal from the vehicle

Keyed locking mechanism to deter theft

---

82712349500 Genuine BMW Rear Transport Trailer Lighting Module (required for towing) $150

Genuine BMW Rear Transport Trailer Lighting Module. (required for towing) For towing applications, the vehicle is programmed to accept a new Trailer Control Module which controls the lighting functions of the trailer. In addition, programming prepares the vehicle to deal with the rigors of towing. BMW X5 towing solutions offer an augmented user interface within the vehicle’s iDrive that helps the driver safely maneuver the vehicle and trailer.

Adjusts the Dynamic Stability Control program when a trailer is connected to the vehicle's trailer plug
Augmented iDrive interface for backup cameras and parking guides
Turns off the rear PDC sensors when the trailer's lighting connector is plugged into the vehicle's trailer plug
Trailer bulb error indicators

------

82712349500 Genuine BMW Rear Transport Trailer Wiring Harness (required for towing) $395

So parts would be $895
Not sure if this is compatible with M-Sport. I hope so. Looks like the hitch doesn't require cutting the bummer and sits below it .. but pics are a bit crappy.

I have no doubt there will be an aftermarket solution, such as Curt or Execuhitch. I have the Curt on my E70 and it's very stealthy and functional. It was $650 installed by a local company (the same company the local BMW dealer subs-out all their hitch installs to, at a pretty chunky mark-up)

Does the bumper skin need to be removed to install it?
