Are you trying to play videos on your phone through the USB port? If so, Im not sure that’s the way it works (someone correct me if I’m wrong). I believe video playback must be from a CD/DVD or video that is formatted correctly on a USB (thumb drive) that is inserted into the USB port in the center glove box.

I think to be able to play videos from your cell phone to the iDrive...requires other things like the ability to “mirror” the video...or have internet access (which is something offered in BMW Connected Drive)...or the ability to use “hot spot”.

I ve tried coding the rear seat seat belt indicator. It worked great once.
Then reverted the coding.
Then I coded it again. But does not work.

Any advise ?

Auto unlock when ignition is off not working on my 2017 40e.

I know there's below 2 codes that serve this purpose:

VAM_UNLOCK_KL15OFF_AFTER_PIA_AUTO_LOCK
CLI_DEFAULT_UNLOCK_AFTER_END_OF_DRIVING

The 1st one doesn't existing in my ECU, and the 2nd is already set to active, but nothing happens when i turn the ignition off. (Yes I know the door needs to be automatically locked after driving for this to work, so it's not because of that.)

Has the code been changed? Or it's just unique to 40e?

I've had the same issue with my 2016 X5 35i. The guys at Bimmercode suggested I might need a software reflash of some kind from the dealership.

Bimmercode just told me that my software version won't work, but I'm not even sure they know what version that is...

What an amazing thread. Thanks to everyone that takes the time to post information and help others.

I purchased a 2018 F15 X5 about 3 weeks and am loving it. I found bimmercode and have successfully coded a bunch of things that annoyed me, or that I just like to have. One thing I have not done, and I am thinking I cannot, is code a start logo within my 6WA cluster. When connected to Bimmercode through my Veepak BLE adapter, I do not see "start logo" as an option within the cluster ECU. I see it when looking at the list of options supposedly available for my model on the Bimmercode.app website.

It's not a huge deal, but I think it would be cool to have there. Is this not an option? I read this whole post and, unless I missed it, didn't see a clear cut answer, and a search wasn't all that successful either.

My other question is whether or not I can use Bimmercode, likely in expert mode, to perform the coding needed to add the trailer module functionality to the car. The car has the hitch but not the wiring and trailer module. I am adding that.

Any ideas on why my active blind spot detection is deactivated after using app? Even if i Select it in my safety features , i leave the menu , come back and it is unchecked again.

before starting my own thread, wanted to see if anyone can diagnose this issue:

Last Year, coded the car and enabled / disabled many features, also did interior ambient lighting with custom colors, everything went fine.

this year, car had a check engine light for internal fault on DP sensor, covered under extended warranty, part of the warranty repair the car needed to be updated, so the dealer has the car hooked up for 30+ hour where every module was updated, this of course reverted all the coding changed back to original state,
soon after that I got DudMD tune remote flashed, as part of the tune the sport display is updated for higher horsepower and torque ranges

now, I coded the car again to unable / disable the features that i want, everything went fine and car took all the changes correctly, but interior ambient lighting is totally messed up,
when trying to make changes, all of the values say Unknown or Inkative, there is no option to select any colors

i'm using e-sys 3.27.1 with e-sys launcher 2.8.23 PSZDATA 4.25.12_Lite
the CFAD is 17BE_082_010_019,
when i tried to use my older laptop with PSZDATA 4.16.10, it said CAFD not found, so this is a newer one

all other HU_NBT features coded correctly, only the interior lighting is off
do you think this is a new CAFD from BMW that PSZDATA 4.25.12 does not support, or some issue with the DUDMD tune, since it likely makes changes to HU_NBT module to edit the hp/tq values
any input is much appreciated

Sounds like you got the latest I-Step when they switched from predefined colors to the HEX pattern allowing you to use pretty much any color you want, most of the people used bimmercode to change it now. For some reason I can't find the post on how to do it using E-sys, but I feel like it was one here.

Based on https://bimmercode.app/cars/f15/, you would have access to needed modules in expert mode. Though, never used app.

I really don't want to steal the thunder of the group of coders that post detailed guides elsewhere in the various forums. They clearly have plowed ground for those of us "users" to follow. I now understand the layout and structure of the modules and codes, and it all makes much more sense. Granted, there are still some limitations with the app vs. using ESYS, but this gets me 95% of what I'm looking for. As I indicated earlier, I really wasn't too keen on the "windows in Apple environment" process, so this is a good compromise.

Newb here with an X5 M50D (2014) which I am trying to code a few things and one of which is the X5 M50D logo on the dash.

I have the Bimmercode App etc and its showing me a Kombi L6 BO as my dash but it doesn't give any options with regards to adding the dash logo.

Any ideas as to why?

I have one led ring that is not a bright as the other 3. Wondering if this is a coding issue, or a hardware problem. Is there a way to see what percentage the front led rings are set to?

Bimmercode’s Expert Mode isn’t “easy”...thus the numerous pages of coding parameters...which I believe generated from the more complicated ESYS or ISTA software.

The easy coding (when using the Bimmercode app) is when you connect to the app and it reads your control modules...you then can select from the modules that can be coded and choose what you want to change. It’s a simple list like do you want mirrors to fold when locking with remote...you select active or not active (or something easy/simple...yes/no).
