Got into a fight with a pole...

So I woke up to all 4 tires saying low pressure and went to the gas station to fill them up and I ended up doing this (see pic below). I guess I was too focused on reversing that I didn't notice the pole in the front.

I had a freak out moment, calmed down, and then went to the store and bought some scratch remover and decided to try to and see if it would come off with a terry cloth. 35mins later it was back to looking like new, not even a yellow dot remaining! I got lucky, it wasn't dented in the slightest; it must have just barely grazed the pole. Glad I tried to remove it first instead of just taking it to a body shop.

I just have to re-plastidip the reflector later to get the small amount of yellow off of it.

So what I don't understand here is why don't you have sensor on the front gauge?

US models don't have a sensor there. I do have front and rear pdc.

On earlier models they used to have cameras there I believe, I think that would have been a lot more useful on tight turns, the front camera is too high and it's blocked by the bumper so you can't see what's under it.

Yeah I was pleased with the result. I used Nu Finish Scratch Doctor.

That sucks not having a sensor there, so what's the reason a $20 saving on production costs?

Do you have side cameras under the side mirrors?

Nice save! Good thing that part of the X5 is made out of plastic otherwise you might have had a different outcome

Yep, those poles never attack first, only in self defense! How do i know? )))BTW Nu Finish is a good product. Glad you were able to resolve it!

Yeah I'd have to agree because $10 saved me from a couple hundred dollar body shop bill.

If you have the Parking Assistant option you will have a sensor in that location.

Otherwise it's 4 sensors front and 4 sensors rear.

Lucky it all came off with some polish and that there was no damage to the paint...
