is an X5, it has been around for long time. I start with E70, than F16 msport and F85 is my 3rd one. only the E70 give me a bite of small problem at the last year of the lease. F16 is very solid for all 3 year lease terms, and my F85 so far is about 11 months. No issue the only problem is the brake noise.

Getting close to 40k miles on my f85. No real issues to speak of except the squeaky brakes.

That's promising. Just standard maintenance?

There is another better thread than this one..... that said, 56k+ miles and under warranty had steering column replaced and transfer case. Continue to have issues with iPhone and the audio system. List of maintenance items coming up has my wallet crying but otherwise things are good.

My 2008 X5 had a freezing driver's door handle problem. Yes it would freeze and not want to open, when I got it open it wouldn't close until warmed up. I would drive with the door open. My 2016 X5M has had no such problems. The only problem I've had is the drivers side door comfort access snapped inside the door, brought it in and it was fixed no other problems.

My 2016 has had a handful of things repaired. Not that I consider this “long term”.

Heater blower, various creaks in the dash and instrument panels, replaced dash speaker due to rattling, steering column replacement...

Dunno how many of those I would have fixed outside of warranty.

2015 F86 - Steering column replacement, driver's door soft close replacement and … squeaky brakes and yet more squeaky brakes. Otherwise, a solid vehicle so far, but I guess she's still young mileage-wise to be conclusive. Running 43k miles now. I was told by the senior foreman at Seattle BMW dealership that he has observed the 2015 production year appear to have less issues that later years, especially the grinding front wheels issue. I took mine in for that just to be on the safe side before warranty expired, and he said that's the first 2015 he had seen with such a complaint. We, of course, couldn't repro the issue ( ), but they still went ahead and "fixed" it at my insistence.
