I started using a pedometer on my iPhone. More or less as a motivator and reminder to get up off my ass and walk a few times a day. Thursday I walked a little over 2-1/2 miles without really walking for the sake of walking. That was just from doing my job around campus. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I'll throw in a purposeful walk around the quads, which I know is just over a mile. My goal is 5 miles per day, or around 12,000 steps.

To be truly effective, they need an app that tazes you when you've been sitting for more than an hour.

No doubt. I feel bad for many of them when they look all excited and show me they got a fitbit. They're like "LOOK, look what i got!! It's time to get in shape."

It's just so sad because they are soon going to realize that getting those 10,000 steps each day takes effort when you sit at a desk for your job. Effort they didn't think they were going to have to expend. Effort they aren't ready to commit to.

Like I said, an app that tazes you. iCattleprod or some such thing.

I'm surprised more people don't suffer from thrombosis from sitting at a desk all day.

Well...welcome! I think...you do give off a familiar vibe.

Mannnn, don't let the sticker price fool you. They're getting so discounted ATM- As long as you have tier 1 credit- you can get an i8 for cheaper than a fully loaded m3/m4.

I know there is a lot more to the differences between my mother's health and my father's health. But the disparity between them is drastic and my dad has always actively exercised and has always counted calories. My mom on the other hand, had some knee problems which inhibited her ability to play tennis, exercise, etc...

For the last several years my dad has been walking to starbucks every morning for a cup of coffee which means before he starts each day he's got those 10k steps in the bank. And my mother's health barely allows her to go in for the surgery to get a partial knee replacement. I'm fairly certain my dad is under the belief that when he stops moving, he's going to die.

Exercise and weight aren't always the end-all for health, though. My younger brother was a diabetic and watched his weight like a hawk. He was never overweight and was about 1000x times more active than I am. A year and a half ago he dropped dead from a massive heart attack. Doc said he was dead before he hit the ground. Lots of factors come into play when it comes to coronary health.

Still, weight and exercise are the two biggies. And maybe watching the cholesterol.

The killer is the regret you feel when you realize you haven't stayed in contact as much as you should have. Suddenly someone is gone and there's no way to say what you wanted to say. That feeling sucks.

Man fuck the USPS

So I ordered my cutting supplements so I can start tomorrow my summer shred, and I placed the order on weds night>Thursday morning and was processed the same day (I paid for 2 day priority shipping)

It said it would be delivered by today, and it's now 8:30 pm and still nothing.

So two days is going to be 4 now.

Last time I'm ordering priority through them.
