Similar incident happened to the lower rear driver's side panel of the white 650 Gran coupe I had a few years ago. Looked like some sort of wheel or tire go too close and etched it's tread pattern onto the paint.

thankfully I will be moving next year so I will be more selective of the area I decide to live.
Sorry to hear that, try WD-40 to get that off, it works wonders.
Thanks for the advice. I will definitely give it a shot.

Then I will take it to a detail shop to see if they can make the imprint disappear.

Glad to hear it wasn't keyed, similar thing happened to my old S4, think some young kid crashed into the fender with their bike and caused some rubber marks and some paint chips.

It still sucks, but not as furious as if someone keyed it intentionally.

A good polish should make most of it disappear.

You'll love the 469s. But I think that a front lip combined with 20" is a bit much. Those stick on bits require larger wheels I feel like.
I saw an f15 at the dealer this am with the 469m's and I have to agree, the wheels are not large enough.

I think I will go with 21". However I am not a fan of the staggered set as I think the 11.5 in the rear appear to clunky. I might go with a match set of the 21".

Polish it out by hand. Sucks but not the worst that could've happened at least it's not a dent and actual paint scratched down

What?! The wider rear wheels are the best part!

I'm with you chadmatic! I was on I-95 heading south last night following a fellow X5 50i with M- Sport that had 19's and it looked like he was on bicycle tires! Didn't look good IMHO. I know that many have to suffer through winter with the 19's and that's cool, when the suns out, break out the staggered 20's all day long! (or the 21's if you are so lucky)

I strongly advice you not to go for front wheels in the back. I made that mistake with my last F15 with the winter wheels. Had to ask the dealer to change back as soon as I saw it. The back part of the body is designed to have staggered wheels and if you put on smaller wheels it will look stupid. The wheels look they have sinked in to the car. Maybe you could put on spacers to compensate but that's not a good solution imo.

However, 21" is they way to go. Which model are thinking?

Excellent choice! Then you should absolutely go for the original staggered set up! I have the same myself and love them!

I have the same 21" alloys and tyres - very good combination and look great where tyres are concerned.
However I have done 4000 miles now in just under 4 months and I am a little concerned about the tyre wear If I'm not careful I will need a new set after 12000 miles? Are the P Zeros known for quick tyre wear?

Thanks for the pics. Very convincing an my mind is made up.

I am also thinking about the M brake set up but btw the wheels and brakes that's $10k in mods. I just don't like the look of the stock brakes. Are there alternatives?

Agree, the M brake set looks great. I think they are a bit too expensive though.

Atomic 80 has the combination of space gray, 599m and m brakes. looks great imo.

Can't say I have that problem. You should go to your dealer and show/ask them.

I have the x35i without fender flares. Tires do seem to pop out ever so slightly with the BMW recommended offset for 20 x 11 rears but I think I'll grow to like it. If not i would go get the flares. Here's a shot of the side profile.
