[HELP] Disassemble drivers mirror X5 F15 M Sport 3.5xi
Hi,
I cracked the supporting trim on the drivers mirror. I am glad that is was it and not the Carbon Black painted cover. This is part # 51167362959 and it is only $30 I see a lot of blowups of the part but, I can't find anything on how to disassemble the mirror to replace without breaking something else. This is a standard motorized mirror. X5 does NOT have lane assist, HUD, etc.. Does have Winter Package (heated seats/steering etc). Of course I did this and not the wife as I was guessing that she would be the first one Any links or steps how to before I dig in too? This will be helpful and I will post pics for others when done. Thanks !! Last edited by j_internet; 11-12-2014 at 08:56 PM.. |

Not sure exactly how it's done, but this layout should help you at least, esp with the screws: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...02&hg=51&fg=07.

Hi Yes Thanks , That is where I have the PT# from. It is hard to tell how it comes apart. It almost looks like I pop the mirror out but.... I don't want to guess..

Thanks again!
I will take a closer look to see how I can pop the mirror out. It may just pop in but I did not want to break a clip or the mirror itself so I wanted to so some research first vs. oh yea I should of done this afterwords... |

If your mirror surround ring is glossy black aka shadowline, then the part number is 51167327911. You can find it for $60-$70. |
