Escort SmartCord Live Direct Wire
I have an Escort Redline and a SmartCord Live Direct Wire, which adds bluetooth and Live App to the mix.
I'd like this gizmo to be close to the steering wheel - probably attached to the column. Is there a switched wire that would be suitable to tap in that area? The fusebox is on the passenger side, which makes it difficult to tap into. If you've installed SmartCord Live Direct Wire - any pointers would be appreciated!! |

I can't help you with wiring but glad to see you running with a RL.
All has been well with my RL and EL app until the new iOS that disrupts communication between the EL smartcord and the RL. I may have to send in my RL to resolve this, but am waiting to see what iOS 10.0.3 looks like.

My V1 is hardwired but not my RL. I take the RL with me when using a rental car like this weekend. Sorry.

I ended up tapping into the passenger side fuse box. However, the fuse I picked stays hot even after the car goes to sleep. Does anyone know which fuse would lose power when ignition is off?

Would like to know this as well, need to hardwire my Valentine One. Anyone run a wire to the drivers side of the car? any tips on getting it from passenger side to driver side? Last two cars were easy, Porsche amd Vw have fuse block in ejd cap of dash on drivers side. I like my V1 in top left corner of the windshield. Any help would be appreciated.

I've found one - #27 on the diagram. The problem with these is that they are all on a delay timer, and power gets disconnected after about 10 minutes after you turn off and lock the car - so I wasn't sure if it would work until I left it and came back later to check.
27 is 10 Amp, which should be plenty for most gadgets you'd want to hardwire. |
