Which one Caliper, Engine Enamel, or Wheel paint? They're all high temp gloss black.

or are they all the same ?

I have to check tomorrow at the office.
If I remember correctly, it has something to do with roll cage or roll bar.

Different purpose might give you different glossiness and texture.

I would say the caliper should be ok, but might be to thick of a texture.

Did you happen to determine the right version? Was is the Chassis Paint? My main concern would long term adhesion and finish quality when painting directly onto chrome.

If it isn't properly prepped ( surface sanded ) then there are concerns of the paint coming off.

That's why I wanted to see how it holds up

what type of sanding/sandpaper is recommended in order to get the paint to stick?

Yes, supposedly you sand it down, primed, then paint.
But since this is just a muffler tip where it don't get dinged up or hit by road debris, I just do 3-5 coats.
