Any issues buying a X5 imported from Canada?
Found an interesting X5 that ticks all my boxes for options but it appears to originally been a Canadian car.
Car fax on it shows US Dept of Transportation: Vehicle imported and declared to meet US highway safety specifications Bond released on 02/05/2019 The pictures show the speedometer at MPH and temperature on climate control Fahrenheit. Wondering if there any other issues that I may run into? If I am looking for aftermarket warranty will they deny coverage? Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this living in some of the bordering states. |

Any issues buying a X5 imported from Canada?
If it was a Canadian x5 it would have had the 6wb digital cluster which is standard I believe in all the Canadian f15s. I could imagine, but never looked myself to be able to switch between metric and imperial measurements though the idrive pretty easily.
I bought mine from Quebec and brought it back to Ontario and it had to be reverted from French to English, which was easily done. My Canadian spec MY15 x5 doesn't use the same flat tire monitoring system as the US. Mine runs off the ABS/ wheel speed, where the US specs have the sensors in the wheels themselves. Although I had a MY19 g01 x3 loaner last week from BMW and it had the sensors in the wheels Canadian spec x5's unless equip with the LED headlights will have halogen fog lights. Not sure what else would be different on this side of the pond. Hope that helps a bit.

It's 6WB dashboard, you can switch mph to kph and back via iDrive. The same story with the temperature units.

Shouldn't be an issue as far as emissions and getting the car registered right? I am in NC and emissions laws are not to strict, nothing like CA.
Is there a code for he sensor ? I can check mcoder to see if has it? As far as the dash is 6WB different then whats in the US ? |

looks like an "executive demo", so leased/driven by dealership management. most BMWs since the E90ish era can be switched between KM/H or MPH via settings.

canadian cars dont have tpms by default
oem factory warranty does not include brakes in canada but i have had a US dealer replace my brakes on my canadian car without issues. for a bc car, i would get a icbc history report. |

But sensors are relatively cheap and easy to retrofit - you just need sensors and some coding. 2VB

TPMS nice to have, but not that important. As long as you check your pressures regularly with a gauge and it has the flat monitor (which is would), it should be enough.
My biggest concern is that it shows there has only been one service done at 30k km?!

Yes. I switch everything to metric when I drive in Canada. I don't look at the analog speedometer at all.
