CilaJet sealant by BMW Dealer
My dealer was trying to sell me CilaJet sealing for $750. He showed me couple of videos and briefed the advantages of having it. I kinda sold to it.
They also seal interior which helps prevents stains etc etc. I am sold here (KIDS) Wondering if it can do anything bad adversely to the paint or looks? Mine is Sparkling Brown and very dark. Anyone tried Cila Jet which is generally used for airplanes. His theory is, a typical detailing costs around $250 to $300. Car wash costs $30 including wax etc. With sealing, you don't need a costly car wash and never WAX again. It also protects the wheels etc. They do it twice now and 5 years later. |

This is just another dealer add on that pads their bottom line. Any number of sealants you could put on yourself will make your vehicle shine.

He said its a 6 hour effort including both exterior and interior. Plus it's done twice (now and at 5th year). Plus interior is protected by any stains which can't be removed.
Say at $30 an hour wage, it would cost around $400 plus cost of material. And it includes warranty for interior. So, I am thinking why it's not worth considering I do not want to put man hours. Is it because dealer selling it? Agreed Dealers price may be premium so does quality and workmanship. (Unlike a roadside detailing business ) |
