X5 m sport xdrive30d vs base cayenne

I recently sat in a 2017 cayenne and was floored by how nice the interior is. With this being the last year there are some good deals to be had. The particular one I am looking at is pretty well optioned (platinum edition) and pasm and my current car has m suspension. However the base cayenne seems about a sec slower 0-100km (7.7s vs 6.9). Has anyone compared the performance?

The base Cayenne is very barren. I would say it's worse than a base X5.

You got Cayenne, S, GTS, Turbo, Turbo S and few other trims like Executive/Performance, typical Porsche lineup. You can buy two Cayenne base with Turbo S.

In the asian community here in Toronto at least, buying a Cayenne base is like buying a cheap Porsche. Two brands are very different in their lineup configurations.

I've been telling myself that if I'm going to move to Porsche, it has to start at least at the S trim level.

To be completely honest. The base cayenne doesn't look good to me.

Has much changed from the 2016 to the 2017 with the interior? Before going with the X5 40e, my wife and I shopped around quite a bit and our final list consisted of:

Cayenne S
Maserati Levante
BMW X5
BMW X6

I loved everything about the Cayenne S as a driver (given that it is an SUV, my expectations were very low) but I was not fond of the interior at all. Compared to the rest of the SUVs on our list it had the weakest interior design. Infotainment system was terrible (touchscreen, small screen, etc), seemed like there were buttons for everything for the sake of buttons. There were things about the interior I liked though, but wasn't enough to win me over. Maybe 2017s will change that.

Maserati Levante was probably my overall favorite but in the end it is their first ever SUV and would have been one of the first units to roll off the production line...recipe for disaster as a car owner! haha

was floored by how nice the interior is.
Why would they put lots of useless buttons in the busiest part, where could be a place to store goodies like in X5?
I never uses those, just changing temperature occasionally.
This is the stupidest interior ever, thats why I turned to X5.

As I indicated earlier the Specific one I was looking at had a lot of options (platinum edition with 20in wheels, new nav with car play, Bose, pasm and a lot of interior upgrades, sunroof). In fact it is better optioned than many s or gts models being sold.

The main problem is the engine is just slow at least on paper.

I don't think I will change. I would rather wait for the new one coming out next year and maybe spring for an s.

I almost got the Cayenne hybrid. As much power as the S, and better range than the 40e with none of that four banger nonsense.
