Aftermarket 451 wheels

I'm contemplating getting some curb rash repaired vs. buying a set of wheels off Ebay - 451 "Clones". From reading the listing it would appear they are identical, just have to reuse my center caps. Idea is to use my old set as winter tire setup, these new ones for summer. I've got 2 wheels with some rash, one other with a slight scrape, this might be cheaper vs. trying to get these fixed.

Anyone bought these clones - how do they look/last?

Who makes them?

My experience with replicas had been horrible. They bend, break, and snap... Especially in an offroad capable vehicle the rims need to be ultra strong to handle the abuse. Get something high quality -- buy once, cry once.

what wheels are you looking at exactly?
most of those wheels on ebay listed as style "451" are actually style 597 wheels.

i bought a set of style 469 replica wheels from sdtwdirect on ebay, and am pretty happy.

hard to tell. There's so many replica wheels out there with new ebay sellers replacing hold sellers, no one knows the true source of these wheels.

Will replica wheels be okay to use? Sure, I suppose, but no one can tell with certainty these will be safe. YMMV.

IMO, buy the real deal used on CL or this forum. When you're done with the X5, sell them again. You can usually get 80 cents on the dollar that you paid for OEM used wheels.

I'd stick with OEM. Having three OEM wheels and one fake one seems like a risky move to me. I assume they aren't 100% the same, especially weight. Just buy a single used wheel on eBay or just cough up the money and buy a new one from the dealer.
