Guide: How to add Apple CarPlay on your BMW

Guys,

I've bought the car (F15) from a dealership in Romania.
Attached is the picture with the VIN.
Why I cannot add this VIN on the bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk?
Can you please help and let me know how I can buy the Apple CarPlay service from the ConnectedDrive store?

There are third parties that will also sell you CarPlay FSC for a third of the price if you cannot officially buy.

Hi, I'm new here and I just bought an X5 xDrive50i and wanted to do this procedure, but I get a warning when attempting to register my car with connected drive UK about a region change as my car and connected drive services are in Mexico but it has no store, has anyone encountered this?

Would this disable my connected drive in Mexico? or could I just log in the uk then transfer back.

I would appreciate if someone that has done this from a different country without connected drive store but with connected drive services shares their experience.

Siri hands free works great if you just tell her to read your unread text message(s). She can also reply to them if you utter the right phrase lol.


It'd be nice to have maps on the Nav screen but I prefer Waze anyway.

And Spotify works great with USB connection.

What else does CarPlay have that regular mobile integration doesn't?

1) Go to the BMW ConnectedDrive UK Site and create an account then login

2) Add your vehicle to your account by entering its last 7 digits of its VIN #, get the security code sent to your car by checking your BMW Messages from the Communications tab, then enter it in the site to confirm

"It says after you enter the last 7 digit the security code will be sent to your car and to check the BMW messages under communication tab, which I do not have it under my communication tab anything call BMW messages. So how do I retrieve the code ?

The way I received the code on both my X5 and M4 is you go to Communication, BMW Messages, it should be there

I got the same message, my wife's X5 is a Gulf Specification, after adding Apple CarPlay, I simply de-registered from the UK site by removing the vehicle and changing the email to some random email. Then registered again on our local Dubai site. It didn't change anything in the car's system or region by the way

It's basically your phone on the iDrive screen, easy access. You will find Phone, Messages, Contacts, with the same icons as your Apple Phone and the Siri integration.

Can you integrate Waze to the car apps? I couldn't find a way to do that to have Waze displayed on the iDrive screen

Yes I know what CarPlay is I was just curious why people seem to like it so much.

No way to integrate Waze that I know of, but I just use it straight off my iPhone and a $5 phone mount/ holder from Amazon that has served its purpose 100 times over without failing.

In order for me to add your BMW manually, please kindly provide me the following details:

1. A scanned copy of your V5C document (both pages) or a scanned copy of your leasing agreement
2. The email address you use to login to your ConnectedDrive account

Once I have these I can add your car to your ConnectedDrive account.
