Looking to get an X5

Hey guys looking to get an X5 as the DD family hauler, what should I look out for and or to avoid. I am thinking of getting a 2014 Diesel or the 35i.

Thanks

Upgraded suspension - without it, the car is squishy.

You don't need soft close doors but helpful if you kids can't close the doors all the way.

Upgraded seats is a good option but stay away from ventilated seats.

20" rims complete the look but runflat tires will drive you crazy - harsh ride.

Head up display - you'll never own a car again without it

Stop and go a good option if you sit in a lot of traffic

If you cover a lot of mileage diesel is the way to go. You'll go through about twice the amount of gas vs diesel.

Everything you mention my M5 has. It is hard to find one with all these options heads up display and up graded seats are super rare

Super rare? Not really. At least, not from when I was shopping for X5s. How large of a radius are you looking for? I transported mine in from a different state in order to get all the options I wanted.

If you can, get the Nappa Mocha option. M Sport and LED headlights are basic requirements in my book.

Send an offer my way, it's sitting in the garage collecting micro dust under its cover lol. It's low spec but as a daily driver that's what you need. Less things to go wrong imo.

Garage List
I think diesel is a wise choice, but minimum get leather seats, spare tire, head up display. I would consider H&K sound at least.

Custom order from SC not a big deal and delivery times are very reasonable. Get what you want and don't pay for the rest.

Not a good choice for family hauler imo. I have a 2016 35i xDrive, there is much to like about the X5 but it has its flaws and is not magical in spite of the price. That's my opinion at 4,000 miles.

For a family hauler very limited space for passengers. I'm not kidding the 2nd row seats are tight and the 3rd row is a joke. Not a ton of cargo space either. Not a vehicle I'd want to take on a long distance vacation.

I'm already looking for a new vehicle to trade mine in on.
