Out of control seat belt chimes

Over the past month, at times, my seat belt chimes sound while driving. I drive mostly solo with nothing more than a newspaper on the front passenger seat. Very irritating for the minuet or so it that it keeps going off. Not sure if it is from the driver or passenger side. Saw my SA and of course nothing at that moment. He said it takes 80lbs to activate the sensor/air bags. Any thoughts as I'm going out of warranty soon.

Any small weight on the passenger seat will set off the chime... A small bag of items I recently purchased from Home depot set off the chime for me.. I removed the bag to the floor and all was fine.

My small brief case with a 4lb notebook was setting it off. I disabled the auditory chime, but left the instrument cluster status, for just the passenger. No more annoying false alarms. It is a really quick fix if you have an ENET cable.
