Any of you guys in Vegas?
My wife and I are heading out to Vegas next month for my 30th. We rented an Aston Martin DB11 for a couple of days, so I'm really looking forward to that.
For those of you who've been, any must see/do's? I trust you guys more than some lady giving suggestions on a Yahoo forum lol. |

Check out the bellagio fountain at night it's an awesome experience. Each hotels are decorated with different themes. Go in as many as you can to check them out. I don't gamble so the casinos weren't of interests and the smell of smoke was unattractive. I also rented a huracan the last time I was there... drive it out of the city and head to the desert because you can't really drive it with so many traffic. My gas tank went down quickly lol.

I've been there 6 times. Oddly enough I'm really not a gambler lol. I really just love the heat and hanging out at the pools with a few beverages
As mentioned, walk through the different hotels, they are beautiful. Also the Venetian has gondola rides if your into that. Plenty of shows to take in. I haven't been the last two years, but treasure island used to do a show at night, pirate ship and all. Fremont street is also pretty cool. Lots to see at night. You can also rent a car and hit up the Grand Canyon and the Hoover dam.

Yea I’m not a big gambler either. I know we’re going to drive the DB11 to the Canyon. The wife wants to hit Cirque du Soleil. We’ll shop and eat. I def want to hit the Gordon Ramsay restaurants. Chill by the pool, etc. we’re staying at the Vdara in one of the city corner suites, so we might actually be able to see the fountain from the room.

The Beatles cirque du Soleil show was great, if you like the Beatles. Went to a few others as well, they are all good. The Ramsay restaurant in the Paris hotel was incredible. A bit pricey but well worth it. There is also a lot of high end clothing and shoe places throughout the hotels. My wife "stumbled" into Christian Lou Boutin and found herself "the cutest little high heels" : needless to say, it wasn't a cheap day. Happy wife happy life lol

I go to Las Vegas semi-regularly, although I despise, no I hate gambling, drinking and heat. LOL But, Vegas has some killer shows and many restaurants are beyond amazing.
Bellagio Water Fountain light show at night is sooooo good. The Shops at Caesars Palace are epic. I do love me some shopping! The Beatles show is great and Classic Cher is one of best concerts/shows ever! |

Reminded me that I still have the video I recorded a few years ago and just uploaded on YouTube.

Awesome!! I have too many good things and times to say about Vegas as I have gone there regularly for well over the past decade. How about you give us an idea of what you are looking to do and that would narrow things down. Sucks to recommend a great sushi place if you two are a meat/potatoes eater. Happy to share my favorite restaurants, shows, clubs, hotels, activities, etc... Sept can still be hot and the pools are open, but it will cool off at night.

We'll be shopping, dining, seeing shows, etc. We plan on driving the DB11 to the Canyon. I think the wife wants to see "O". Probably a lot of shopping and a lot of chillin by the pool.
What are some good eats? We like anything. High end, hidden gems, doesn't really matter. Any hidden lux shopping spots? We're fans of LV, Gucci, Omega, etc.. I'm a huge Bond fan. Anything out there for that? Museums? Obviously a big car guy. Anything I need to see/do? Vintage poster stores? I'm in to old Bond posters. |

Late to the party, but I lived in Vegas for 26 years before moving to the DC area.
Lola's for New Orleans cuisine. Good stuff that won't break your wallet. Vintner Grill is superb if you're a foodie. Always, and I mean always, check the schedule at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts. The Cabaret Jazz Club is excellent. Reynolds Hall is acoustically spectacular. Local tip: If the Lon Bronson Band is playing at Cabaret Jazz, go. Simply awesome horn band. As Drew Carey said: It's a house band that's so good you'll never want to leave the house. Also, it's a long-ass drive to the Canyon. Out and back is doable, but a drag.

The DB11 was $700 per 28 hours. They had a big variety ranging from Escalades to Ferrari to GTR and everything in between. I've just always loved Aston and plan to buy an older model Vantage within the next few years.

We went to Vegas in June and took the helicopter ride which was awesome. The pilot said the drive is doable but as the poster above said, it's a long way there and back!
I'd use the car to go to Fremont Street and grab a hotel for the night. The Vdara will be good for you because it's a non-smoking hotel. We didn't stay there but almost booked it. The Gordon Ramsay restaurant is shit; but if you really want to go, then make sure you book in advance. I don't get his popularity tbh, even us Brits are so sick of him, we kicked him over your side of the pond! As a non-gambler, Vegas never appealed to me, however after four nights there, 7 cities over three weeks, it was only second behind Santa Barbara. Two completely contrasting cities, so it shows you how much I rated it - enjoy!
