I have done my first coding Yesterday, yay, all went good thanks to the great information on this site. I do have a question, now my wife wants hers coded as well. both vehicles are X5's, 14 and 15. will I run into any problems with e-sys? should I clear out and save my data in the C: esysdata /caf folder?
any other suggestions before trying to do hers? |

Running e-sys through Parallels on a Mac. My screen is "scrunched up" for lack of a better way of putting it with lines not fully showing in the vertical sense. I can send a screen shot later tonight. Anyone seen this issue before? Solution?

Do you have a Retina display? If so, there's a setting in the hardware configuration to enable support for Retina. If that doesn't help, you can also check to make sure that the DPI scaling in Windows is set to 100%. Have you tried running in Coherence mode? Disclaimer: it's been a while since I've used Parallels (I use VirtualBox now). |

I've read the great OP and various sections of this thread and I'm going to give coding a go on our 2014 X5 35i this weekend.
I received my cable from Ben! (thanks for the fast shipping!) And will install the app on one of my laptops tonight to get a head start. (thanks shawn) Question before I start; is it best to update my Media: MN-002-017-007 and Phone: TN-002-017-007 firmware before starting to code? Would updating these at a later time override any coding? Lastly, has anyone recorded on video the various changes/features you can get from coding your F15? I saw one video on the ACC but have not found any other vids. |

Makes no difference one way or the other. No coding is involved.

When dealership flash programs vehicle (ie updates firmware), the process includes a larger head unit software push (with newer than above usb version), which is different because it actually does return ECU's to factory state and overwrites any custom FDL changes (eg, disclaimer removal). |

Use VMware Fusion. It's way better and supports Retina display auto-scaling. Of course if you use Unity Mode, it displays the apps seamlessly to the Mac desktop and makes them look native to Mac.

Added Carplay functionality usually requires hardware upgrades to the entertainment system (from what I've seen with other vehicles). Has anyone been able to confirm that Carplay can be added to previous model years (with or without hardware upgrades?)
