F15 tune & aftermarket parts
hey guys I've recently bought a f15 n55 35i and im looking to tune via MHD . Ive seen a thread referring to this but its very old and sort of out dated being said the tuning world has made progress since 2015-2021. wondering if anyone has a nice build they could post. I'm looking to have a more fun reliable build not really looking to do mixing gas or upgrading fuel system but what is all recommended? just honestly want a stage 2 tune w 93 oct i have bought charge pipe working on FMIC, and few other parts what do you guys recommend being said the other tune thread is a little outdated!?

Oh you might also look into XHP - transmission tune that members speak very highly of. |

A basic stage 2 build isn’t that difficult to keep reliable. You want the charge pipe, downpipe, intercooler because the car WILL heat soak on the stock one , plugs/coils and your choice of tune
I started on a BM3 OTS tune in early 2022 but then ended up switching to MHD because my tuner preferred it. Both have good options for OTS maps, just personal preference. Regarding XHP, I ran it on my stock tune car for a year before tuning the ECU and I highly recommend it. Makes the shift behavior much more predictable.

I’ll also just add make sure your maintenance and fluids are up to date. You’ll start to find the weak points once you turn the boost up.

I'm running MHD Stage 2+
Apex Built catless downpipe, stock intercooler, charge pipe. Car runs like a freight train. Sometimes I wish I didn't do colder plugs bc now I can't get better than 15mpg since the switch in comfort mode. Less in sport of course. I plan to upgrade the intercooler next. |

Running an ApexBuilt catted downpipe now because I have to pass emissions, but started with a VRSF catless. Both options are fine.
If you’re getting less than 15mpg tuned on 93 octane, something isn’t right. I get 15mpg on full e85 even with colder plugs.

How was the smell with catless? I’ve heard the high flow catted aren’t all that much better smell-wise, is that true? I’m in Florida so no worries about emissions here.

I’ve honestly noticed way less smell with a cat, the VRSF catless was smelly but it didn’t really bother me.

Nope. Power loss with a cat only comes into play when you’re making 4-figure horsepower numbers. Anyone who tells you otherwise is full of it.

Good to know! Most of the info I have seen suggests that going from stock to a given high-flow cat will bump you like 20hp, but if you went to that same company’s race/catless DP, you’d get like 40hp. Maybe it’s less noticeable a loss/difference if you’re FBO + turbo + all your other madness. Perhaps more noticeable if you’re just tuned + cp + dp?

Nah, I still think stock turbo you honestly wouldn’t notice, only if you truly measured it. In the real world, it’s honestly negligible.
Lots of data from many tuners and the likes of Steve Dinan to back this up.
