On the stock exhaust, the passenger side opens up after a certain RPM is reached. I believe it is 3K.

knepsterd I don't think you will be disappointed. The RC chip really pushes the X5. The acceleration sound is different from the cabin.

The reason why I didn't install the RC right away is because I wanted to get a good feel of just the MPPK does to the X5 and not get confused with the RC tune.

Alan, can you give us some feedback from going from MPPK to RC in B setting and then from going to C setting? I'm wondering if you have a different experience.

That's got to be a record I would love to hear your feedback after a few days. Are you setting B?

I'm not sure, but I had a friend in my X5 today and at WOT had the sport display on.
I did not take a photo shot but the display looked like it was a lot closer to the 400 hp than with MPPK alone, maybe 360ish or so...again vaguely believe that was the visual estimate. Will check out again this week.

Going from B setting to C wasn't as dramatic as going from just MPPK to RC.

Slightly more power/torque without any negatives so far.

Do you mean 400 torque and not 400 HP?
I was able to get very close to 390ish torque on the display from WOT.

It wasn't jerky right? So far I like B setting and I'm not sure if it is necessary to increase it lol.

No jerking at all. If it was i would have dialed the setting back or ripped the RC out of the car.

Fwiw dialed RC to C with MPPK, don't see a marked difference from setting B, no jerkiness...only driven 20 miles and did not go over 6k rpm...

If not much difference, I may just keep it at B. Keep us posted after a few more miles added

If you can't feel a difference, give it 20-50 miles to adapt some more or even a tank.
Are you pushing it beyond 40mph? 40-120 lets say example and WOT?

10-40
40-60
55-75
55-90

10-40 comes on with a blink of the eye
40-60 dropping to 4 or 3 on "m" in sport is very quick as well
55-75 not as fast as a v8 but still quick
55-90 admirable but not a v8

Keep in mind I'm on 19 inch rubber not staggered
So even though lighter in weight don't have footprint of wider wheels for grip

You're not breaking the traction on a 4WD vehicle regardless of your rubber size in the case of straight line acceleration.

These SOTP descriptions don't mean much. Perhaps a dyno or some track time is in order.

Vinny Ten Racing (Dynojet) AWD
I would wait till October or Nov (cooler weather) to do Dyno
But you can come with us next Friday to the Drag-Strip in Great Meadows, NJ (Island Dragway) or Raceway (Englishtown) has Wednesdays and some Fridays in October too.

I personally find the Dyno a waste of money up here, unless we can get a few cars together and set-up a Dyno-Day they can reduce the cost for a few hrs.

Don't waste your time on a dyno. Any idiot that wants dyno information can tune up their own car and pay for it. Or pay you to do your dyno. RC tune is legit and everyone that has it feels it. Just like MPPK is legit and everyone that has it feels it. Unless of course you want to dyno it for your own personal reason.
