Weird Lug Bolts

Finally got a chance to install my spacers and made an unexpected discovery. Anyone else came across these bolts?
This is my 9th bimmer, 5 of which were X series and I've not seen these till now.
The last pic shows how the standard bolts leave some unfinished wheel exposed around the hole.

I'm assuming you're saying the left one is the one that doesn't belong....is it just one rim that has them? My guess is someone lost them and just replaced it with whatever they could find. Go to dealer and get a replacement or check amazon or eBay.

I'm accustomed to the type on the left. I didn't specify a side because I never know what orientation the app will load my pics.

The one one the right is the unfamiliar one. They were on each wheel. The conical part is actually a free-spinning washer.

The long one is what RGSport sent me with my H&R spacers. I've got a boatload of factory take-offs just like them (but shorter) from previous vehicles.

That is the new BMW Lug bolts that I found in the new G05 X5 and G07 X7.
It is just a newer design that follows Porsche's lug bolts.
The older type lug bolts, as what I sell, does work perfectly fine. Just some of the lug bolts holes have more unpainted area as shown in your picture.

Was there just one on each wheel like a security bolt?

Nope, five on each wheel. Heavy suckers too.

Thanks Ben, that explains it. Yeah, the cone on the "older" bolts, appeared to seat nice and flush. Torqued them all to 105 and drove a couple hundred miles. Spacers look great and rode smooth as silk up to 90+ mph.
BTW, thanks for including the little packs of anti-seize.

Interesting. Mine (2014) are the open style ones on the right.

So do these newer bolts cause less wear on the rims?

Supposedly, the new design, which is similar to VW and Porsche design, are to have even torque across the contact surface.
Or another way is a foolproof design so even regular people can install it without making a mistake in torquing the lug bolts.

Funny as mine look like the right but don't have that washer on them. Too many part designs. Just more proof Germans don't "over engineer" everything.

I had a similar experience with my car, and it caught me off guard too!
It's funny how after so many Bimmers, we can still stumble upon something new. However, when I shop with hardware and repair equipment, it helps me to get out of the problem.

I'm glad you got the chance to install spacers and noticed the difference. Sometimes, those small changes can impact the look and feel of the wheels.
