Great info and details on update! Kudos for OP.

Too much trouble and cost to get RTTI and able to use BMW Connected for my case.

What year is you F15? Are you still covered by BMW extended warranty? Trying to understand what makes it eligible.

I've got a 16 X5d - I think technically I am an F16 - is there an assumption that they are backpedaling? Wondering if I'm covered here and if not when?

F16 is covered, there are a few models that are covered, if you check the picture I posted of the bulletin, it has the different models

Thanks for clarifying - I called it F15 and someone at a dealership went out of their way to correct me emphatically- and incorrectly

Thanks for addressing 🙌

Trying to learn more about SI B84 02 21 dated June 15, 2021.

It clearly states in BOLD "the eligible vehicles have been updated ... ".

Does it mean that vehicles _previously_ ineligible for a HW/SW retrofit (with customers receiving a notice of ineligibility) are now eligible?

I already contacted my dealership via phone call and they are tracking this SIB because many of us here have been hounding them on answers. I am waiting for a call back because it does not specify F15 years. But it does state that "Affected by the 3G technology discontinuation" and we all know they are mostly from 2014-2016.

It does also truly mentions "BMW assist eCall". Since that is a safety feature, maybe they back-paddled 🤷🏽

I guess I will find out when the service manager returns my request. 🤞🏽

Is there a second page to this SIB? And if so, does it provide clarity on MY Vehicles?

Give me a few but there are two repairs, one can be just a software update and the other is the atm and software
Repairs are according to icc id which is the info for the 3g atm

Yeah, I can see that on the first page. But it looks there is a second page there, under the first. Is that part of the SIB and if so can you please post?

Side question on this. If i get the work done by the dealer for this, and then do a ID6 head unit retrofit later, does the work done for this service allow CD services to continue to work then on a retrofitted head unit? A lot of the ones ive looked at call out that you'd still likely loose CD services...

No, connected drive services are attached to TCM or ATM unit, if BMW retrofits ATM into our cars later we can just buy new HU and touchscreen and get ID6 with all connected drive apps still functioning.
