Engine Settings For Low Quality Fuel
Hey Guys,
I've run my vehicle VIN number in BMW VIN Decoder website and this caught up my attention: 858 - Engine settings for low Quality fuel Anyone here knows if this option/setting is effecting the vehicle performance in such way like reducing the HP or limiting something? Can I uncode/delete this setting? The ride is V8 50i M Sport 2015, I'm filling her with ultra fuel (98 Octane) since she has rolled out from the dealer. |

That's mean the engine DME is presetted to low quality fuel when the vehicle was manufactured and base on fuel type the client fill the car with the engine DME automatically re-adjust the parameters and unleash the maximum designed performance as announced for 50i engine. |

when you have this coded it typically is for a region that does not have 91+.
the vehicle runs a different file for the DME/ECU. in theory you have less hp/tq as well.

Hmmm, well that's a bummer, I wonder why BMW did that, we've got all types of fuel in here even racing fuel with 100 octane, thx though for the clarification.

No, vehicle was manufactured in US and shipped all the way to Kuwait, I'll drop them an email just out of curiosity to confirm if it is a standard feature for this region or not.
