I did think about the Auxiliary Heating but did not think I would really need it. I have not had it on any other car but know you have me thinking. It would be nice to get into a warm car on a cold day. It would also be nice not to have to scrape the ice from the windscreen as the wife's Ford Fiesta has that function.

I still cant believe it takes 5 - 6 months for this car to be built and delivered

what? my dealer told me 4-6 weeks

He's most likely not in the US. They have longer wait times, sadly. We're lucky because ours are built in Spartanburg: https://www.bmwusfactory.com/manufac...ehicle-models/.

The kitchen sink retrofit can be done, but you have to code a few things:

BDC_Body / Auto_Spülbecken / nicht_aktiv to aktiv

BDC_Body / Wasserversorgung / nicht_aktiv to aktiv

BDC_Body / Das_War_Ein_Witz / werte = 00

(hint: google translate the german )

After reading lots of posts in the forum, I knew that if anyone could code it, it would be you. Kudos.

That's why I ordered the Aux Heating; my wife's Evoque has the heated front windscreen So, wanting to go one better I got the Winter Pack for the nice warm steering wheel AND the Aux Heating so don't now need to worry about my 05.30 start's in the winter as the car is ice free and toasty warm

If its not too late, I recommend the option...GO FOR IT!

After reading this thread......several times

I think.....I now understand what the various packages are/consist of in terms of the UK options, as the various dealers I've asked in the UK seem to be utterly clueless when it comes to these X5 adaptive suspension options, so it's no wonder it's so rare to find a X5 in the UK with them fitted....especially on a SE spec car which makes it nigh on impossible to try before you buy!!

So, despite the substantial cost in the UK of the combined Comfort and Dynamic pack I'm coming to the conclusion it's a must have option for me, especially after trying several X5 with standard suspension, and being less than impressed.

Just need to finalise rest of spec and choose a colour, or rather choose which shade of boring monochrome that BMW insist on offering
