Selling a set of brand new cables by Security Chain Company for SUVs. Pair for the front and pair for the rear. Fits staggered 20" OEM set up - 275/40/20 front and 315/35/40 rear. Kept these in the car when I was using Conti DWS tires just in case I hit snow but never did. Selling because I'm switching to a dedicated winter set up. About $200 for the 2 sets on Amazon. Asking $100 for both front and rear sets.

Pardon my ignorance, but are these safe to use? My dealer made me sign something stating that I am aware I should not use chains on the X5.

That's interesting, is yours X5 RWD (S-Drive)? Or leased? I've never seen anything suggesting chains weren't safe (re: occupant safety).

Given they're compulsory in some places/under certain conditions, that would be an interesting stance for BMW.

Never heard anything regarding this. I don't see how BMW could be so different from other cars on the road that cables are unsafe.

No, it's X-Drive/AWD. I agree, I find it very strange! I haven't gone through the owner's manual or anything, but found it odd the dealer would have me sign something like that. In any case, it is compulsory in some sections of where I live, hence my interest
