RaceChip Tune Plug Question for 5.0i

So, I just placed my order for the BMW X5 (F15) xDrive50i RaceChip TB Ultimate. I bought it here from DTM HAUS: http://dtmhaus.net/bmwx5fxdratb.html with their "racechips" discount.

The company emailed me saying this:

"Thank you for your order. Before the tune goes could you please look at the attached and tell us which plug does your car have since BMW uses two types of plugs.
Pictures attached. Thank you"

I have no clue, so I took these pictures of my engine:

@wdimagineer, do you by chance know what they are referring to or which plug is for our 5.0i? I would really appreciate any help regarding this. Thank you guys .

@opasha, the picture they sent you are N55 engine off E9x 335i.
They need to know the TMAP sensor plug type since BMW changed the plug around mid 2011.
But, for your car, 50i, it doesn't apply to you.
This is a common thing around the piggy back tuning, all of them are tapping in to the same sensors. MAF, TMAP, EWG.

I can't wait to here your review of tune! I might order it myself or just wait a few months and trade the 50i in for an X5m for my 32nd bday present to myself.

Side note, anyone happen to know when the Dinan tune for the 50i will be coming out?

I will definitely give a solid review of the tune . They are asking RaceChip for the details regarding this plug, but I did email them r33's response above.

Whenever your birthday is, I hope you enjoy and get what you want, Nick!

Last I checked/read, the Dinan tune will be released later this year. That was my dilemma currently, whether to try this RaceChip tune or wait for the Dinan. I caved and decided to try it. The price was $584 after using the racechips coupon compared to the $769 original price...so I thought that was a great deal.

Opasha posted the code in his original post in the first paragraph.

The x35i group buy thread has "racechips" though.

this is for the 50i piggy back tho, not the 35i and that coupon code is not applicable.

I used the same code and it worked. It was "racechips." I mistyped when I wrote the original post.

If that is the case you might as well puncture my gas tank because I'll be getting 0 miles per gallon.

Holy cow, I drove my neighbor's 50i with the tune today. It's a monster and it beats the e70 x5M in every category. Now I wish we went with the 50i, but wife likes the diesel idea and she overruled me. I am very jealous.

@opasha, so what was the answer from RaceChip regarding the connector?
I was wondering how can they supply you with 3.5 engine layout while you ordered for 5.0 engine setup.

It's a general picture that shows you the location of the plug, which is in the same exact location for all the gasoline cars.

How can you define an N55 engine and N63TU engine has the same location of sensors.
Both of them are gasoline engine, one i6, the other v8. The location of the air intake and throttle body are totally different.
For normal people, that would be confusing by giving out i6 engine picture to find out the location of something on a v8 engine. Otherwise Opasha would catch it right away without the needs of posting it in the forums.

As @r33 said, 100% different location. I used the pics and more pics from the diesel tune thread on page 4 where someone posted install pics. I even used videos. The 5.0i layout is different. My mechanic (really solid guy who knows his stuff) was too busy today, but I wanted his help before the shop closed to show me where everything is so I could learn myself. The engine cover popped off easily - it's secured from both sides and part of the rear so you just lift one side at a time pulling outward slowly. We first tried to look for the MAP sensor in the side and back side and front. No dice. We then tried to look for the matching plug size...no luck. It is not in the same location. So, he said he will take a look on Monday since he's got a full schedule tomorrow.

@greentrbo95gst, can you ask your friend where and how to install? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you guys. I'll keep this thread updated with my thoughts/review.

@opasha, do you mind taking a picture of the product itself and the wiring? Maybe I can help you.

Absolutely. I'll take pictures right now. I opened up the engine after getting an email from DTMHaus and RaceChip (they've been communicating regarding my issue), and they sent me these pictures saying it's in the front. The 5.0i does have a front plastic cover (has a WATCH YOUR HEAD sign on it - my mechanic actually hit his head on it)- supposedly this is where the MAP sensor is:

I'll come back with the pictures, thanks for the help, Ben .

@r33, here are the pics. I found the plug I believe. It is not in the front compartment plastic cover - that just protects the front engine fan. It's actually in a very tight space unfortunately...ugh. I took a picture of the location from a distance and then a zoomed in picture of the plug. Also, I got plugs - one of them is an adapter in case one doesn't fit since the 5.0i engine is different and I was told bmw uses 1 of 2 of these plugs depending on the engine. The plugs come in ziplocked plastic bags. I just took everything out for the pictures.
