For the passenger side, you will have to muscle it in a little bit.
Maybe you can email us a picture or short video.

I had the same issue with the passenger side. There isn’t enough space. My solution, which wasn’t mentioned in the excellent PDF provided by R33, was to leave the 2 T20 silver screws out of the new bracket (comes with the knee pad part). This way the bracket can float a little. Dock the metal locking tab into the center console completely. Then drive home the 2 silver T20 screws from the passenger side. This will help greatly. This is a slight deviation from the PDF.

Ok, so just fasten the bracket with the one black screw near the dash and leave the others skrews out? So install the bracket apart from the pad. I'll give it a try, but am affraid the dash will still be in the way. Is there a way to remove the dash panel between the glove compartment and center console?

Use a bit of leather cleaner to lubricate part into place. If you separate the base from the pad you are not going to be able to put the pad on again.

Leave the screws in the bracket out (see the PDF in the first post of this thread, page 6; qty 2 silver screws that go into the bracket sideways) until you get the front of the leather piece docked in place. Then drive the screws in the bracket. This is the way. No cutting, no forcing.

I finally managed to get it fit. I had to use the multitool to make some more room. Even with the tips given here there just wasn't enough room. See pictures for detail where to cut.

it is odd that some people had no issue with installation while others have a completely different experience and needed to cut. is there a difference in years or an option that creates something that is different from vehicle to vehicle?

Nope, That is called desperation....
I installed mine in a breeze following the instructions given. Yes, The passenger side is a bit more difficult but not impossible to the means of having to cut anything. Specially in a part that is not readily available and VERY expensive...

Because you had a different expierence with a different car, that doesn't automatically mean that your experience is the only possible one for everybody all around the world.

If it would have been just a mm or so, sure I'd muscle it in. But it was like 5 mm with the aluminium part being stuck to the leader of the dashboard (which is a bit soft) and already pushed in for the maximum that it can/will allow. From the bottom I've lifted the clip up so it would slide over the plastic and fall right in after it reached the whole. But There was way to much difference to get it lifted over the plastic, no matter what angle to try. Even after making the bump smaller, I still had to muscle it in. Now after installation it's firmly in place, no movement or so.
Part was delivered next day after ordered, so not such a big deal if I'had to reorder. Then again, it was just some cutting in the bracket, not the actual knee pad.

I misplaced the screws that came with the knee pads. Can someone post the part numbers for the screws? Can the wood trim screws be used?
