I have one on order. You are not going to lose any bottom end. The factory exhaust flows very well. We might gain 5 to 8 hp up top. All exhaust mods are basically sound mods. Akra has a weight advantage since it is 33 lbs lighter.

awesome news... but I think more than 33 lbs saving, is more about 70 lbs.

Onfirex5 is definitely correct. The horsepower gain is very minimal I did a before and after Dyno run of the car and didn’t see much of a difference which was expected since there are no cats except for in the downpipes and unfortunately that’s separate from the system. I have downpipes coming in and I’ll be doing another dyno run after the install to see the difference and record sound as we’ll. As he’s also mentioned most of the gains are in the weight reduction since only a titanium exhaust will lose this much weight.

Dynojet ?
I'd be happy with that gain when my Akra arrives as i expected nothing. M built a great exhaust and intake system. I've looked for an awd dyno and only found a Mustang awd 2.5 hours away. My Vbox shows a consistent 0.80 to 0.90 reduction in time 0 - 100 mph with RaceChip, but i'd like to get a dyno also. |

Ya what I?m actually hoping is that the awron Guage doesn?t delete the code through resetting the adaptations. It just doesn?t seem like a very efficient way to have the light not come on. Can you imagine the computers having to adapt over and over again all for the sake of not having the CEL come on. Lol. I?m not familiar with coding the CEL out with out a tune. But if anyone has experience or an opinion. I?d greatly appreciate it.

Tuning the CEL out is cake...they just uncheck the "report" box...stops it cold. Only thing I don't like about tuning BMW (and do not have the software to do it), is you physically have to crack the ECM DME to allow the tune. Bigtime warranty killer. You can just Flash Tune GM with touching the ECM....but they are getting smarter with Flash Counters, etc to see if you have been in there. |
